Writing a tribute for a loved brother and friend is very challenging because the momeries are too vast to trim down to a mere paragraph.
I remember meeting you for the very first time at Margate, you brought a spark to the Emaswati group of friends.
I will never read Isaiah 41 Vs 10 or listen to the song Uzuliphathe Kahle Lelivangeli, without cracking a smile and shed a tear as I will be reminded of how you drew strength, comfort and joy from these even in the middle of your storm.
I remember how you enjoyed your
special meals of ematsambo from Mrs Maseko, oh! how you will not share your chill sauce from your Mkhoti and how you enjoyed your sea foods.
My goodness, The love you had for your wife was exceptional and how you showered litamitisi lakho with love and netimoto letinhle, thank Mabhengeta to have shared your last days on the earth via zoom prayers.
You will forever be loved and missed, until we meet again in heaven.

On behalf of everyone at Lyndex Recycling Systems I would like to pay tribute to William, a dear colleague and friend.

William began his career in the UK firstly with CDE engineering and before long he became friends with most of the employees within Lyndex who shared the same factory with CDE.

Following his time at CDE Will was employed by Lyndex in February 2018 as an Electrical Service Engineer.

It was very evident from the onset that he was a very knowledgeable person and had experienced in all aspects of electrical engineering and machine controls.

William very quickly took charge of the electrical installation for a complex control system for a large material reclamation system. He was tasked with supervising an additional four electrical engineers along with scheduling works, resulting in a very successful and fault free installation, a credit to his exceptional workmanship

He did however have mischievous streak where by following arrival at a customer’s site he would call the office and report that the machine was in a catastrophic state just to wind the office staff up, only to laugh uncontrollably when being quizzed more about the problem – that was Will!

When he entered a room it would light up with his presence. He had a lovely smile and a special glint in his eye. He was always ready for some verbal banter whether it be in the office or over the telephone.

We will all individually remember Will in our own special ways, be it seeing him sprint though the office absolutely terrified one day when Keith had brought his dog into the office, (unknown to us that he didn’t like dogs) to looking through his receipts whilst he had been staying away from home on long installations, totally fascinated by what foods and ingredients he had bought to cook his meals, very inspiring and perhaps a master chef in the making!

Will liked to party and loved to dance, his moves on the dance floor at our Christmas parties soon got him awarded the title of ‘snake hips’ for his wonderful rhythm and exceptional shapes, he was a real party animal

We wish also to pass on the sincere condolences from numerous customers who have telephoned us directly following the sad announcement of Will’s passing. They all held William him in very high regard and said that he will be deeply missed by many of their staff members on site.

Above all William was an outstanding person and a lovely bloke. He was very well liked by all Lyndex employees due to his happy and friendly nature.

To Octavia and family, William will be truly missed and forever in our thoughts and if we had to sum up William in a few words, they would be that he was kind, thoughtful and a happy man respected by everyone.

Gogo,
i have been trying to make senseof all this, to me there is mo sense but to your maker there is sense. we have fond memories of you. we were laughing na gogo wakho we were in one of the Swazi meetings at Horsham. the lights there had sensors. and each time the lights goes of you would jump like umziyoni ato pholofetha utsi ‘eyi baba’ and the laughter that was in the room was remarkable. RIP Manengeta, Mcusi Wendlunkhulu. you will forever be in our heart

No words could convey how I feel about the loss of my brother. He was indeed a potential asset to the family. He was like a father to me though he was born after me. We have lost a family member who was so supportive. Our lives will never be the same without him. I thank God for his wife who is continuously supportive. She has been always there for him, in life and in death. Rest in peace Mcusi Wendlunkhulu.

We may know death as a part of life, yet penning goodbye to William is hard.
Babe Shongwe was an amazing man and we were blessed to be a part of his extended family.
We send our sincere condolences and sympathies to Make Shongwe, children, family and friends.
May the memories that you made together be a consolation today and all the days ahead.

My condolences to the bereaved Shongwe family at large by losing Mr Mphotho William Shongwe so quick. We were still expecting more prosperity from him. To me he was a man of his words who couldn't let anyone down, and he had a strong character, he could face any kind of a situation. He was there when u need him mostly, and he couldn't disappoint anyone. We have all lost an inspirational Soldier. May his soul rest in peace. By Charles Ngwenya

Well William, I never ever thought that I would be typing this. You came into our lives, and then the families lives...for those that don't know. I think that I should share this..In 1990, a bunch of us from KIC moved to Swaziland. We started a fridge factory. My function was the components division. We had to make all our own special kit. So as we first moved to Swaziland, we couldn't find accommodation. So bought a caravan and a huge awning. I set up a panel building bench in the awning.. two days later in popped Sabelo. Ï am an electrician"replied you are now William, go and wash the bakkie...so he did. It then followed that I taught him the fundamentals of panel building. Industrial electrics, some PLC work. Fridgemaster closed, he went to Defy with me then to the UK with CDE.. one moment that I should share...at Defy, we built a powder coating oven..Williams job was to come in and switch on. No problems, well Danny Freddel and William called...they had stolen the main 50 mm gas line...he couldn't talk as the gas was leaking. Said what must I do....answer run like hell...what a great guy...we will surely miss you...

Our deepest condolences bako Shongwe. We are still in shock. The few times we met we will hold on to the memories. It was always nice being around babe Shongwe. The jokes, the laughter. The drinks and the dancing. Sleep well babe. Till we meet again. Our prayers are with make and the family at large.

I miss William, my "brother" every day and as long as I have to live. His loss is devastating, unjust and he irreplaceable. We know each other since many years, since I used to live in Birmingham, but kept close (as much as we could) after I moved to Scotland. He was the brother I never had, the friend anyone could dream of, the always caring parent and husband for every lived one around him, the good engineer admired and trusted by his employers, and the good man and Christian, God could be happy sitting on His right. William left behind a painful void in everyone's life, his unaccomplished simply human plans and dreams. He will be missed by everyone close to him, or knew him or only heard about him. I am carefully chose my words and I am far to commit sacrilege, but his death is unfair and unjust and the least expected by us. I can only conclude that we humans have plans and dreams, but God is the only one, making them true or wiping them away, for reasons beyond our comprehension. I cannot help crying each time I remember him. And I just can't help myself, I keep remembering him daily, waiting for his call, calling me in funny names (Kish), but always ready for help or small talk, when no one was available to share. I miss you brother, I cry your absence and honestly I wish I would be the one, taken by God, not you, I would leave no one behind, you left a world missing you.
I will always miss you, love you. One day (who knows how soon) I will see you again. Please God, take care of him.
