Mr. William Walter Lott, 71, of West Point died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. at Roper Heights Baptist Church in West Point with the Revs. Jackie Taylor and Aaron McCollough officiating. Burial will follow at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point. Mr. Lott is survived by his wife, Lynda McGrew Lott of West Point; two daughters, Barbara Lott of Lanett and C.J. (Jack) Cowart of West Point; two sons, Rodneey (Carmen) Lott of Lanett and William Ashley Lott of West Point; two grandchildren, Amber Nicole Lott and Christopher Cowart; two great-grandchildren, A'Miracle Lott and Zaden Lott; two sisters, Doris Brumfield and Frances Bellivlau; and five brothers, Thomas Lott, Charlie Lott, John Lott, Reuben Lott and Joe Lott.

Born Dec. 16, 1939 in Valley, Mr. Lott was the son of the late Lucile Page Lott and Robert Byrd Lott. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Hurst; and brothers Richard Lott and Bob Gene Lott. He was a retired employee of West Point Foundry and Machine Shop with 33 years of service.

Mr. Lott had been active in his church, Roper Heights Baptist Church, where he had served as Sunday school superintendent. Mr. Lott was an avid fisherman and loved to go to the farmers market. He loved his family and friends and they loved him.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roper Heights Baptist Church, 507 Poplar St., West Point, GA 31833.

The greatest father a girl could ever ask for. I miss our times fishing and going to the market and Hog Heaven with Foxy. I do miss you so much. I think about you everyday. I remember kissing you on the forehead and you saying oh no go get the Clorox. I will always remember being you baby girl. I will never forget you. Kisses on the forehead from me to you. I love you daddy. And will Always miss you. I know your a winner either way.
