Willie B Stevenson (known to most) as "Othermama" was born March 26, 1919 in Homer, Louisiana. Mrs. Stevenson departed this life on June 13, 2021 peacefully at the age of 102. She was born to Ira and Sonny Webster who both preceded her in death.

At a young age Willie picked cotton, milked cows and churned butter. Willie experienced many of the big bands where she would swing dance and see several celebrities. She worked for Sears and Roebuck in her words as "the usher of the flusher."  Willie also worked downtown at the prestigious Biltmore Hotel. She later retired from  Pantorium cleaners.

In 1952 she and her two children moved to Dayton, Ohio to pursue a new life for her family. She quickly became a member of Phillips Temple CME Church where she was a dedicated and active member of the missionary society up until her passing.

Willie loved visiting the sick and shut in as part of her volunteer work in the community. In her free time she loved spreading God's love, listening to gospel music, having great conversations with people and eating good food. Fridays were dedicated to fish (her brain food). She would always say some people need to eat more fish.  She also loved her "Chicken" Sundays.

If you knew Willie you know her memory was impeccable. She could recall dates, years, birthdays, addresses and stuff most of us can't do today. Two of her favorite quotes (although she would say them as one) were "Do the right thing, because it's the right thing to do" and "Take good care of yourself because you're worth it."

Willie was married to late husband William Haley Stevenson for 40 years. She had an older sister Sally Mae Cochrane who also precedes her in death. She leaves behind a legacy of love starting with her loving children Charles Edward (Ruth - deceased) Williams, Mary Virginia (Richard - deceased) Taylor, step-daughers Drucilla Veasely and Andrea Mulberry. Her grandchildren Anthony McGlothan, Bilal McGlothan, Charles (Dawnika) McGlothan, Douglas McGlothan, Lynne Williams, Scott (Kimberly Boissiere) Williams and a host of several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Professional arrangements entrusted to W.E. Lusain Funeral Home and Crematory.
