On August 26, 1953, the late Mr, Willie James, Sr. and Mrs. Willie Mae Harrell were blessed with a baby boy, Mr. Willie James Harrell, Jr, in Coosa County, Alabama.
At an early age he joined the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. He attended the J.D.
Thompson Public School in Coosa County.
He was employed with Russell Corporation where he got the name "Plowboy"
because he was a hard worker. He stayed with the company over 30 years
and later carried the name "Plowboy" to Frontier Yarn and Dye in Wetumpka,
Alabama where he worked until his health failed.
Willie James, Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Willie James Harrell,
Sr, Two sisters: Mrs. Mary Frances Blair and Ms. Margaret Harrell, Four
grandparents, two nieces, one nephew and a host of aunts, great aunts, uncles,
great uncles and cousins.
He departed this life on Saturday, February 11,2012 at Shelby County Medical
Center in Alabaster, Alabama.
Willie, Poolie, Plowboy, leaves to cherish his memories: Three children: One
daughter, Ms. Lisa Rowe of Camp Hill, AL; two sons: Mr. William C. Harrell
and Mr. Jamar Davis, both of Alexander City, AL. A loving and devoted mother,
Mrs. Willie Mae Harrell. Four brothers: Mr. John Henry Harrell, Mr. Johnny
Lewis Harrell, Mr. James Rickey Harrell and Mr, Tyrone Herron, all of Alexander
City, AL. Five sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Faye (Rev, Stanford) Benson, Mrs.
Bonnie (James) Baggett, Ms, Lizzie Pearl Harrell, Ms. Gloria Harrell and Mrs,
Chaka Woods, all of Alexander City, AL. Five uncles: Mr. Edmond Holley, Mr,
William Holley, Mr. Burl Holley, Mr. H.C. Holley, all of Alexander City, AL, Mr.
Jarden (Carolyn) Holley of Florida. Eight Aunts: Mrs, Annie Jean (Steve)
Kendrick, Mrs. Gracie Cunningham, Mrs. Leola Graham and Mrs. Jessie
Smith, all of Alexander City, AL; Mrs. Mae Sue Benson of Cottage Grove, AL;
Mrs. Kathy Lois (Carey)Thomas and Mrs. Essie (Rev. John) Leonard, both of
Goodwater, AL. Mrs. Jo Ann (Dock) Smith of Kellyton. One great uncle, Mr.
Forest (Annie Pearl) Russell of Ohio, Two special cousins: Mr. Will Gopher of
Alexander City, AL and Mr. James Edward Harrell of Kellyton, AL. Two special
friends: Mr. Troy Brown and Mr, Denil Tanner of Alexander City, AL. A
