A BEAUTIFUL LEGACY FOR ALL OF US

October 29, 2013

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26 RSV)

On the official date of his earthly transition, our Brother-In-CHRIST Willie Coleman left us with a powerful mandate that the precious HOLY SPIRIT inspired the Apostle Paul to write too all believers. His participation in the Holy Eucharist (Communion), one day prior to his spirit transcending to be with the LORD, who was giving him shalom (peace).

What a compelling way to go before meeting OUR MAKER. In doing so, his obedience to OUR LORD & SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST was adhered too. OUR LORD gave HIM the strength to participate in HOLY COMMUNION. Further, Deacon Coleman leaves us a very, very poignant legacy by partaking of the spiritual elements.

He reminds every believer of what the bread symbolizes. It is to be the power given to us by which we obey OUR LORD’s demands, HIS WORD, to love and forgive one another; to be tender, kind, merciful and courteous to each other. The manna (bread), which is HIS body, reminds us that we are not to return evil, but to pray for those who persecute, misuse and abuse us. When we eat the bread, we are reminded of the CHRIST, who lives through us whereby we can be what OUR LORD wants us to be. We are reminded of HIS perfect and sinless body.

Deacon Coleman would say to us that we are to be imitators and emulators of JESUS. We must look like GOD's SON whose name is JESUS.

Following the bread in the Upper Room, JESUS took the cup, which symbolizes HIS blood of the New Covenant. This is the arrangement that OUR LORD has made, by which our old life is ended. The blood conveys to every sinner and believer that this is the end of life, and the old life in which we were self-centered, dependent and desired to amass the attention from others is over.We are, at this point, totally dependent upon HIS HOLY SPIRIT for guidance.

When we partake of the cup, we are no longer to live for ourselves. Deacon Willie Coleman knew that he had been bought with a price out of the Slave Market of Satan by the blood.

His participation in the Holy Eucharist (Communion), one day prior to his spirit transcending to be with the LORD was shared with his beloved wife, Evangelist Sherjuana Coleman and me.

What an experience! His wife, Evangelist Sherjuana Coleman and I shared in his last earthly supper, anointed him with oil and prayed before his spirit left the earth.

May OUR LORD Be PRAISED, MAGNIFIED, ADORED, HONORED and given OBESIANCE for our BROTHER, DEACON WILLIE COLEMAN. It is sunrise; it is morning; it is the morning of Deacon Willie Coleman’s eternal day.
