Willie Marvin Mitchell was born on January 15, 1958 to Albert Mitchell Jr. (deceased) and Johnnie Mae Mitchell. Willie Marvin departed this life on December 19, 2013.

Willie Marvin, also known as “Gut,” grew up in the Mountville Community and worked as a logger until his health failed. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his wife and family.

He graduated from Troup High School in 1975.

On June 20, 1980 he was joined in holy matrimony to Sally Woodard and to this union four sons were born.

Marvin was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Sally Mitchell; four sons, Lashaun Mitchell (Tiffany), Marvin Mitchell (Stacey), Demetrius Mitchell (Kim), and Travis Mitchell (Kendra); mother, Johnnie Mae Mitchell of Philadelphia, PA; step-mother, Lunnia Mitchell of St. Mark Community; two brothers, Kenneth Mitchell of Philadelphia, PA, and Richard Tucker of St. Mark Community; one sister, Tanisha Ransom of St. Mark Community; sisters-in-law, Ola Mitchell of St.
Mark Community, Loretta Woodard of Shiloh, GA, and Renita Griffin (Tyrie) of Greenville, GA; one aunt, Dorothy Cousin of Hogansville, GA; fifteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
