Willie Jo Morris was born on August 18, 1924 in Dadeville, Alabama to the late Willie and Gertha Mae Traylor. Willie Jo dedicated her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and was faithful in her service to the Lord., She worked as a Sunday School teacher and Church Secretary for many years at New Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Dadeville, Alabama where she was member prior to relocating to Alexander City, Alabama. After her relocation, Willie Jo became a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she remained committed until her health declined.
Willie Jo was formerly employed at Chapman's Healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant for more than twenty years. She retired in 2001.
Willie Jo was a prayer warrior with a quiet and humble spirit. She was a woman of wisdom who had a positive attitude about life in spite of any circumstance. Her motto was always. "Each day is a Blessing". She genuinely loved and cared for others, and she was very vocal about her love and commitment to Jesus Christ.
Willie Jo departed this life on Wednesday June 13, 2012 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her sister, Myrtice Traylor Canady, and her brother, Edgar Traylor.
Willie Jo leaves to cherish her memories, two loving and devoted children, Willie Dell Traylor (Mary Ann) of Dadeville, Alabama and Mae Traylor Leonard of Alexander City, Alabama; five grandchildren, Latarsha Traylor Pearson (Trotzky) of Smyrna, Georgia, Shareka Russell, Shameka Russell, and Joni Traylor all of Alexander City, Alabama, and Delicia Traylor of Middletown, Ohio; eleven great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Clarice Swanson (Vic) of Douglas, Georgia and Charlene Canady of Alexander City, Alabama and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
