"Still missing you Winfield. Been playing your music a lot lately. We have many memories of you here in Oberlin, Ohio. What a blessing you were to all of us. Love, Aunt Jeanie"
"Winfield's creative passion was unparalleled, his performance seamless, his freindship invaluable."
"It is hard to believe that you have been gone two years. I miss our time together but God had something else in mind when he took you home. Love sis Elma"
"Our memories will always cherish Winfield. He is our only son and brother. We are so lost without him. Because we have a deep and abiding faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we know that we will see "Field" again one day. We miss you terribly "Field" and we feel so alone, not to see you or hear your voice. We will continue to pray for strength, while we listen to your music and enjoy your photographs. We will always love you.
Rest in the Loving Arms of Jesus, "Field"
Forever your loving mother, Mrs. Maude Davis
and sister Esterley Patterson

"In Loving memory of my dear friend and brother Winfield. I still can't believe God has taken you from us. Words cannot express how much we love & miss this giant of a man who had so much love and kindness for everyone! I'm so thankful & grateful that you shared your gift of music with us all! Memories are golden!"
"For the loving memory of my brother Winfield, words are far away from my family and I. Its too hard to believe that he is gone. His life was so enormous, that the only thing we do is concentrate on our memories and today, remember the day of his birth, followed by a life loaned for a short time. Our tears and our prayer, follow disbelief. We pray for that great getting up morning. Until then, with a wounded heart, no-one to tell my secrets too anymore. I will always love my brother "Field"."
"Happy Birthday in Heaven Winfield. Missing your birthday calls. Love always, Phyllis"

"Winfield it's been six months since your passing. In some ways it seems as though it hasn't been that long, yet in other ways, it seems like an eternity. I miss the phone conversations which covered many, many, different topics. I will also miss eating with you, particularly takeout, you had this way of making it like art, from picking it up, to diving in, and wiping it out, it was always a pleasure! Music, Wow what a passion for music. Winfield, you had without a doubt for passion and love for music, than I have ever seen anyone love anything in my life. Winfield you had incredible talent!!
See you again someday my Brother, Love You!"
"I remember Winfield fondly from Ord Road School (Paget Primary), Bermuda. More specifically I remember how he taught me to catch lizards with a long blade of grass and THEN chase our friends with the lizard. Oh such fond memories of an early childhood. He was purpose driven and full of life. Smiles and a feeling of peace should fill you as you remember Winfield. God Bless You Brenda"

You are a light that will never fade. My children always loved talking with you and seeing that huge loving smile. Sue & I, and the kids miss you Win.... We know your listing with that finely tuned ear to our words. We only have "3". We Love You ....."
"I am so blessed to have known Winfield. With such a calming, kind, appreciative demeanor, he always made people feel special. It was such a pleasure to have cared for him. My thoughts are with his spirit, family and loved ones."
"Gone too soon! I still cannot believe that Winfield has left us. He came to live with me in Ohio as a teenager along with his good friend, my nephew Anthony Ball. So, "Field" became my nephew too! I will miss his visits and hugs. What a wonderful example he was to young people. He never gave up his dream of conquering music and many other pursuits. I loved him. Aunt Jeanie"
"Fondly, I would call him "Dubya" which he laughed at. Of all the folks I have met since coming to Florida, I can easily say that he is the one person I REALLY connected with both musically and personally. He was the greatest guy: truly enlightened and wise beyond his years. I feel blessed to have known him. I will always miss him."
"Sound, music is the foundational essence of life. Winfield returned to his primordial essence but while he lived among us he personified it and brought it to life so that we through his music could touch into our own native essences. Play on! You and I touched briefly a few times in the halls of music. May your soul soar in sync with the universal primordial sounds. Jamila Dixon"
"What a beautiful tribute to Winfield. He was and still is a wonderful friend and mentor to so many people. He may very well be in a better place but he will be missed dearly. I'm very sad that Winfield is no longer with us. May we meet again, my friend. xoxo Blanche"
"Uncle Winfield was always smiling. I loved talking about music with him, and whenever we would talk about music he was always smiling, but serious. He was a very insightful and wise man. I will always miss him and he'll always hold a special place in my heart."
"I have many great memories of Winfield, he is greatly missed. The best thing I remember about Winfield were his great hugs, they made you feel so loved because you were getting this giant bear hug. Winfield also had a great laugh and smile, so cute! He was a wonderful human being and a class act. I am so glad I had the honor to know him."
"We Celebrated the Life of Winfield Davis on his 57th birthday – which he loved celebrating - so was the perfect way to honor his passion, which was his music. Winfield was an accomplished writer, composer, musician and bassist and the gift of his music will live on forever."
