Dear Winnie. I got this notification yesterday and I was sad. Just knowing that you left this world so early hurts me but I comforted by the fact that you knew Christ and that you are seated with Him in Heaven. Continue to rest in peace and fly with the angels in the Elohim of Elohims in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

ADIEU MY DEAR COOL, CALM COMPOSED SISTER
I still find this tough to bear. We met about 11years ago through Sister Sheri Eniola Dada, and we hit it off right away. You were always cool and calm. You had your questions about life's challenges but your faith in God was both deep and strong too.
I know you are in a better place, so enjoy your due rest from all stress and toil.
The good Lord, who you served so well shall comfort and uphold your children, siblings, Mama and indeed all of us left to carry on.
The Widows of Pearl Women's Network will miss you just as we at Head High International Organisation will miss you at our yearly Valentine Love Feast and other activities. Your absence will also be deeply felt at our Women On Their Knees weekly prayer meetings and Bible Study sessions.
You had a burden for missions and missionaries. How we were so excited to know we had both contributed to the work at Abule Owu, Ogun State and how we longed to visit the mission field there together. I surely will do that as soon as I can.
I know forever faithful God will look after your children, who you so much loved and laboured over.
Good night Sistee mi.

TRIBUTE FROM ODEBOR ATIOMO DESCENDANTS

It still baffles us  why we couldn't pick up any  premonition of your passing from our "radar."
It seems our Sovereign Lord in His Omniscience  knows that if mere mortals have access to  His diary, we would cling on to our loved ones like Jacob did to the angel in the Bible. We are in most cases left ignorant and not able to "crack the code"  to all  foreboding signs.
To soothe our emotional pain, we have searched the scriptures and taken solace in  prophet Isaiah's words: "Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die." Isaiah 57:1‭-‬2 NLT
Who will now give us those admonitions on our WhatsApp platform? Who will send us those edifying  video clips in our family forum...?"
Your passing has  left a chasm, and it will take only God to help us  fill the void.
We take consolation in the metaphor our Lord Jesus uses  to describe the death of His saints:"Sleep."
Our Winifred has gone to sleep.
Good night our dear Winifred Oghoadena,
good night.........

GONE TOO SOON
It is difficult to come to terms with your passing.
It's been tough, very tough.
You were gentle, prayerful and God fearing.
I used to admire your calm demeanor in the face of challenges. We miss you greatly. You were a special gift from God.
I take solace in the promise of the scriptures that in your new abode, ".....God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 NKJV
Good night dear cousin, good night....
May your gentle soul rest in peace. Amen

Winnie, your death was so sudden and came as a big shock. I knew you and the rest of the Atiomos at Allen Avenue, Lagos when u were all so young and single. Attended your star studded wedding, then the children started to come!! I haven't seen you in person for over 25 years, but have kept up through social media and family over here in the U.S. You were so full of life and a great woman of faith, serving the Lord faithfully. I believe you fought the good fight and heaven needs you now. To us family, friends and well-wishers, you have gone too young, too soon, but God knows best always. The Lord comfort and strengthen Mummy, your precious children and grandchildren, siblings etc. Rest in the Bosom of the Lord. You will be greatly missed but u will live in our hearts forever. Adieu ❤

     GONE TOO SOON

It is extremely inconceivable to think that Oghoadena's beautiful eyes are now closed in death.
Referring to my cousin in past tense makes the reality of it more painful.
Her unexpected passing just when we were looking forward to celebrating more milestones makes it more painful.
When I was dealing with sister P's painful exit ,her expression of empathy was so profound and further strengthened the bond between us.

Wnifreds resilience, compassion and grace was admirable.
She bore blessings and challenges with equal dignity.
Her Christianity was not taught but lived.
She lead by example and her love was unconditional.

I thank God for the grace to obey Christ's command in Luke 9 : 62 and the ''Great Commission ' in Mathew 28v 18_20

I can imagine  the welcome you got to Heaven because of your witness here on earth as an Evangelist.

I thank God you did not labor in vain as your children have justified your Sacrifices.
By the Special Grace of God,
they shall pass your legacy to the next generation.
We thank God for the wonderful moments you shared with us - now memories of a beautiful cousin.

Winifred's departure is a great loss to those who knew her and those that never got the opportunity to meet her.

We draw comfort from the hope we have of the Resurrection morning..
Rest in Peace.

Winifred, Oghoadena (Ogho), my dear cousin, more like a sister, left us way too soon, left us in shock, and we are still asking why, how?

Ogho you lived your life guided by the light of Christ… kind, loving, compassionate, and very respectful. Once an issue was at hand, you did not toss it aside for others to take care of, you took it on, did not easily give up until the matter was resolved. You always found a way, because of your good relationship with most people around you. My dear Ogho a very smart lady, and a great writer too. (check out her text messages to you). You always remembered to send birthday greetings and thank you notes. Ogho, you had a heart that always understood, good at making excuses for other people’s not-so-nice action, and you had a forgiving nature, not one to bear a grudge.

Ogho, you were strong, and with your resilient spirit, you persevered in life through pain and tragedies, but just when we thought the worst was over, you departed, leaving us in pain. We however find solace in the lovely children and grandchild you left behind, children you raised with so much love, care, and guidance. Oghoadena, the tender hero! We do know that death cannot steal these treasured memories of you!
I am comforted by the words of Romans 8:18 that states: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us”. So, I know that you have been welcomed into heaven, by the Way, the Truth, and the Life himself that is, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Dear Ogho, Winifred, may you rest in eternal peace.

It is with deep sense of loss that the Body of Christ receive the news of the death of a Beloved Sister, Woman of God and a Dedicated Crusader of The Word of God. Your Labour of LOVE in His Vineyard was quite visible. We also note with delight your labour in bringing up your children as a young widow. We can't challenge God for allowing you to cross over to the great beyond at the youthful age of 57yrs. Rest in perfect peace in His bosom, Amen.

Winifred, Oghoadena to the Odebor Atiomo clan, the news about your sudden transition came as a shock. Words fail me……… How can I express sorrow at the passing of a first cousin who practically grew up with me like a sister, who was closest to me in age (always let her know I was 10 months older than her), and who in my mind would always be around? I don’t think any of us – your precious children, granddaughter, mother, siblings, extended family and friends – was ready for you to end your earthly journey. We also can’t question why our Omnipresent and all-knowing God called you home at this time. The trials you encountered during your lifetime notwithstanding, you used your experiences as an opportunity to serve the Lord. My memory of you as a daughter of Christ gives me the confidence to quote St. Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7 – “You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith” and have gone on to claim your heavenly prize.

As I reminisce about you, the last verse (below) of the hymn “Abide with Me” by Henry Francis Lyte and Will Henry Monk gives me comfort:
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee
In life, in death, o Lord, abide with me
Abide with me, abide with me

Sleep on dear Winifred at the bosom of our Lord.

Peace, Perfect Peace!

Sis Winny..... in our youthful days at Ladipo kuku/Adeleke street....you had everyone laughing at your uplifting jokes and merriment.....no dull moment.... and as we got older..... you evangelized and brought JESUS our Lord and Saviour into every conversation and admonished all and sundry about the total submission of our souls.
May our dear mummy, your very dear siblings, precious children and granddaughter whom you dotted on lovingly, be divinely comforted in Jesus mighty name, Rest In Peace beautiful soul

Heaven's Gain:

I write with great shock and heavy heart over the unimaginable transition of a dear friend and Covenant sister.....

I thank God that our last conversation two weeks before she joined the Saints Triumphant in Glory left me with our last memory together and I quote her ........"She said I know it is the Lord who prompted you to call me and you are the first Person I'm picking the call since I came back from the hospital" those words meant alot to me and I'm glad I obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit because I would have been more heartbroken if I had not put that call through to her ......

Evangelist Winifred Babs-Babata was a woman who loved God and God's people passionately that even our friendship started from MFM church ikeja when we both brought our children for deliverance over two decades ago till her last days on earth we were still together, though we had our moments of disagreements but we always came back together, she was a relationship person.

She was full of godly love, care and compassion, she loved her family so much that there was no conversation with Winifred that she will not mention her siblings, how she wished they are all born again was the cry in the table of her heart, Oh what a selfless life she lived???

Despite all her struggles and trials she never gave up hope ,she continued to the end and slept in the Lord and her soul is indeed Precious in the Sight of the Lord as it is written in the book of Psalm 116:15, Precious in the Sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints ,Amen

My Solace today is that she was a Prayerful and loving mother to her children and has laid a strong foundation for them and that her sweet spirit will live on through them and that they will always know how much she loved them as she tried with all her heart to be with them but God called her and she had to obey the Master's call.

I will surely miss her for all the good things we shared in common and I hope she rest eternally till we meet again at the resurrection morning though it is heartbreaking to say Goodnight my dear good friend

Oh death where is thy Sting ???
Oh grave where is thy Victory???- 1 Corinthians 15:55
Winifred fought, You won and Conquered

Your legacy lives on❤❤❤

Hmmm, You would have turned 58 years two months from today....However we bow to “THE WILL OF GOD ALMIGHTY” !!!

Our hearts are broken right now and lost of words, but in your favorite words - IT IS WELL !!!

You gave your Life totally to Our LORD & SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST almost 30 years ago and have never looked back inspite of the challenges, trials and temptations you faced.

You worked and stood gallantly for the LORD until the very end. You reiterated that the ultimate was to hear the words....
“ Well done, good and faithful servant “
          Matthew 25:21
Love is a BOND, and that which we shared as siblings even death cannot part. It hurts us at this time to say goodbye but happy to know you are at PEACE !!!

You are gone from our arms; however very much in our hearts. Those special years will not return, when we were all together; but with the LOVE in our hearts, you walk with us Forever !

We will miss you greatly, our usual chats and gatherings on celebration days like we always do as a clan, our occasional fights (*wink) and ways we makeup (Lol) . To quote you here on Tuesday, Feb. 23. 2021.
“ There’s nothing like having a family who love and express it sincerely ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. I am proud of my family, irrespective of the occasional fight - We still dey !! Standing Strong !! .
This was after Sis had prayed for us all while we were rejoicing earlier this year !!!

Thank you for helping me / others in our Christian Journey !

Unto ALMIGHTY FATHER, we raise your Children and Grandchild and Grandchildren yet to come !

Until Resurrection Morning on GOD we RELY !!!

IN ALL THINGS WE GIVE GOD THE PRAISE !!!

WE JUDGE HIM STILL FAITHFUL !!!

My dearest sister, it’s taken me days to come to terms with your passing. The tears just won’t stop.
Nothing in my entire life has broken my heart as much your untimely death. The pain so tangible!!
There was so much left to do - weddings to plan, graduations to attend, many more grand children to dedicate..... but we cannot question God.
Ahh! I will miss you so much my gentle, kindhearted, prayerful, God loving, easy going, non judge mental sister and friend. I enjoyed going to the movies with you, gisting and praying with you.
In spite of all your struggles, you made sure you were there for me at my lowest points making sure I had all the spiritual support and prayers I needed until I had an amazing testimony every single time!! All I needed to do was call you. It was you who helped me become as prayerful as I am today. You were always about love and forgiveness.... there is so much to say about the 28 years that you showed me so much love.
My heart is heavy because I will never see you or hear your voice again ... I miss you sis and I love you so much.
I know you have joined the saints in heaven and this is where I get my solace from.
Rest In Peace my dear sis.

My ever gentle graceful prayerful Jesus loving Winifred. I can't believe I am grieving over your untimely death. I still can't grasp the meaning of this sudden passing. However, I give God the glory and honor that you lived such a rich life. Loved by family and friends. You lived to witness your next generation and watch your children prosper. Your death is not in vain because you have taught us to be prepared because life on earth is not guaranteed. You are flying high with the angels and death has no sting on you. I will forever cherish your memory from our childhood days at Idia college. God rest your soul. Your generations shall be favored and Excel beyond human limitations in Jesus name Amen. Wishing all your family and friends grace and fortitude to bear your unexpected passing to glory. It is well with our souls.

Her Life

BIOGRAPHY

November 27, 2021

Winifred Olubunmi Babs-Babata was born on the 25th of June 1963 to Anselm and Victoria Atiomo. She was born in Edo State where she lived her early life and carried out her early education. On the 11th of November 1984, she got married to Late Hameed Babs-Babata and together they had six children.

As was evident to all those around her, she lived a life in service to God and she served in different capacities in the church. On the 25th of June 2008, she was ordained an evangelist.

Tapping into her experience as a widow, she set up the Pearls Women’s Network to help widows cope with the difficulties of widowhood as well as help them find solace in God. The goal was to provide widows with spiritual, mental and physical support especially in their most vulnerable times; from the moment where they become widows, to living the harsh financial and emotional realities, she had a passion to ease the difficulty of widowhood however she could.

Winifred joined the Missions Department of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dominion Sanctuary, Acme (Region 19 Headquarters) in 2012. She participated actively in the nurturing of the Abule Owu and Feru Ota Mission field churches through regular visitations, medical missions and outreaches. As a result of her commitment and dedication to service, she was appointed the Assistant Head of Department in 2014. A position she held until her passing.

She was also a house fellowship leader, giving her the opportunity to provide leadership and guidance to small group of people on a weekly basis.

She also briefly served as the proprietress of Ave Maria Montessori Nursery and Primary School, Opebi.

Her beautiful life and wonderful memories will forever be cherished by her children: Banke Sanyaolu, Gbenga Babs-Babata, Folarin Babs-Babata, Tosin Babs-Babata and Foluke Babs-Babata; her son in-law, Seyi Sanyaolu, her granddaughter, Ninioluwa Sanyaolu and her Family.
