Mrs. Winnie Bivins Tolbert of Columbus passed away Saturday at the Columbus Specialty Hospital at the age of 83.

The daughter of the late Wheeler, Sr. and Hattie Herring Bivins, Mrs. Tolbert was born in Americus, GA and was a 1953 graduate of W. H. Spencer High School. She was a member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served with PICCM, the Adult Women's Sunday School Class, and the Monday Bible Study Class. She was retired from Pine Manor Nursing Home following 25 years, and was co-owner of the 103 Drive-in whose name later changed to Allegro. She was also a member of the Ruth V. Cobb Chapter 105-Order of Eastern Star, and the Progressive Civic and Savings Club. She was preceded in death by six siblings.

Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, Mr. Roosevelt Tolbert; a daughter, Suzette Tolbert Smith; two grandchildren, Brittany J. Smith, Steven C. Smith; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Bivins Porter and Susie Bivins Fontain (LeeRoy); loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
