It also appeared in the sound tracks for Oceans Thirteen, the Goodfellas, A Bronx Tale, Fools Rush In and Vegas Vacation. Wanted to finish reading "Fall  of the giants'" and "Winter of the world" but wasnt able to due to poor eyesight

Two years ago Dad read "127 Hours".. he said he savored every glass of water after reading it.. I had the same thought.. We agreed the point of the book and the movie is to tell someone where you are going if you are hiking alone.. We also enjoyed " A Walk in the Woods" and agreed it would be awesome to hike on the Appalacian Trail. On September 2, 2015 the film adaptation of Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" will open in theatres nationwide with  an award winning cast that includes Robert Redford, Nick Nolte and Emma Thompson. I saw the movie on labor day weekend.. it was funny and charming but the book was better.. I wanted to see more scenes of the Great Smokey Mountains because I have never been there....

We both read the "Night of the Grizzlies" and had the same thoughts.. what a horrible way to die!  Dad asked me to never go camping again unless i stayed in a motel or hotel where it is safe from wild animals!

Dad said he had a fear of being shipwrecked and being eaten by sharks. He read "In the Heart of the Sea" and said it was a good book.. The movie version, starring Chris Hemsworth is coming out december 11, 2015  Quoted from US Weekly.. " The epic whale tale, adapted from the 2000 nonfiction bestseller, tells the story of the  Essex, a Nantucket whaling ship whose run in with a very angry cetacean in 1820 inspired the novel Moby-Dick.. Shooting in the Atlantic Ocean "we were out there in the elements, shifting scenes with weather patterns" says director Ron Howard. As the brave first mate Owen Chase, "Chris brings so much intensity  and charisma".

Dad also read "The Finest Hours"  the true story of the U.S. Coast Guards most daring sea rescue and said it was interesting.. On the night of February 18,1952, during one if the worst nor'easters that New England had ever seen, two oil tankers off the coast of Cape Cod were litterally torn in half. With the storm in full force and waves up to 70 feet high, four coast guardsman headed out to sea in a tiny lifeboat to come to the rescue. These brave men risked their lives to save more than 30 stranded sailors.

It's a true story of heroism and survival..

His greatest achievement in life was being our loving, devoted dad.. he was a beautiful person

His intelligence and wit will live on in all the lives that he touched
