His Life

A lifelong resident of Columbus, he was the son of the late Cedric, Sr., and Elizabeth Clark Shavers. He retired as a Transportation Specialist with the Muscogee County School District. He also had been employed as a Truck Driver with Lafarge/USA Concrete Company. A very devout member of Wynnton Hill Baptist Church, he was active with the Deacon's Ministry, Male Chorus, Baptist Training Union and was co-organizer of the Sons of Jerico Ministry. He also was a member of the Fourth District Male Choir. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a Modern Free and Accepted Mason. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Monica D. Clark and Tanya Richardson; a grandson, Keith Clark and two brothers, Willie Jones and James Shavers.

Surviving are a loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Hattye Shavers; a daughter, Annie M. Richardson; three grandchildren, Ayanna Burgess(Brandon), LaTanya Hubbard(Dominique) and Monray E. Hendricks; four great grandchildren one sister, Joann Thomas; loving in-laws, Geneva Fortson(Michael), Virginia Watley, Catherine McFarland, Sheila Becks(Gerald) and Waddell Pitts(Millie); and a host of other relatives and friends.
