In her White Crib all covered with White/Pink Satin Sheets.  Oh how she loved the feeling of satin.

When she arrived home it was a bit hard for her to fall asleep since she was used to hearing all those alarms in the hospital.  So i would put on one of my favorite song at the time Rush Rush by Paula Abdul and that would do the trick. I would hold her next to the stereo and as she listened she loved looking at the lights of the stereo.  As she grew she could never go to sleep with out listening to music or hearing the TV.  

She finally reached her 5lbs mark and was able to drink on her own she was ready to go home.  My mom had bought for her a beautiful pink out fit for when she was to leave the hospital but since she was born prematurly mom went and got her yellow for good luck ( there we go she can never stay with the first out fit).

I had asked my baby sister Diana to help me choose a name that was not common and she suggested Yairis and i loved it so i came up with Isabel......Her name was

Yairis Isabel Hernandez 

Born on June 15, 1993, at Jackson Memorial Hospital, weighing 3 lbs 14 ounces with a length of 17 inches at 32 weeks,  She was there for 2 weeks and transfered to another place to gain the rest of the weight she needed to. Her goal was to reach 5 lbs.

I was going to start her Gigi's story with her birth but i decided to take it back a notch gigi's Father Frank and Me (Sonia) Met in 1985  we were 14 yrs old.  Frank is Cuban born (Pinal del Rio) and though born in New York my parents are from Ecuador. Here i have attached a picture how we were back then.  You will see where Gigi got her good looks. A mix of Carribian and South American.
