XO Anna
It is with deep sadness that we announce...
On May 8, 2019, Yvonne (Teddy) London passed away peacefully in Edmonton, AB at the age of 88. Yvonne is survived by her two daughters, Judith Van (Allan) of Calgary and Roxann Vaos (Sotiri) of Edmonton and two grandsons, Alexander Vaos (London, UK) and Nick Vaos (Airdrie, AB). Also mourning her loss is a close friend whom Yvonne loved like a daughter, Anna Posteraro.
Those who knew Yvonne, knew her as a strong, independent woman with many talents and capabilities. Golf and gardening became passions for Yvonne but cheering on her beloved Edmonton Eskimos football team was her greatest joy. Yvonne loved to travel and had wonderful memories of trips to Hawaii, Greece and the years she spent living in Europe with her young family.
Above all else, she cherished her friends. She was especially close to friends Nora & Ed, Pam & Frank, and Jenny, her best Tim Horton's companion for a medium double double. Yvonne was also very fond of her trusted advisor, Jerry Zakariasen. Aside from business matters, they shared a love of the stars and science. Yvonne will also be missed by Rick Conlon who helped her navigate challenges like buying new cars or finding the right trades person to help with repairs to her home.
Yvonne had a long and successful career as a bookkeeper and retired from Standard Safety and Consulting Services in 1995. Her work and the relationships she had with her colleagues provided her tremendous satisfaction and personal delight.
As Yvonne wished, a cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned for later in the summer. Please send your contact information to Roxann via odduqk@gmail.com and you will receive all the details.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre for their tender care during the last years of Yvonne’s life.

Love from your other daughter, Anna.
Love, Rick.
She participated in all of our company social events and could be counted on to help us organize the event and always, always wore the company colours!
No one worked harder than Yvonne and it was a bittersweet day when she reached that darned 65-year-old milestone and said goodbye to us at Standard Safety. I know Yvonne thought the world of my Dad and though we worked closely for many years, I'm not sure she ever knew how much I relied upon her work, her dedication and most importantly her sense of respect for the people we employed and the services we provided. If I had one comment that would definitely tell you about what I saw in Yvonne it would be: "Don't mess with Standard Safety!"
Love, Anna. ❤️
