His Life

"Our Angel" - Zachery David Jordan

August 5, 2010

Zach entered this world and blessed our lives on June 2, 1992. He was born at Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital in Glendale, Arizona.  Zach was what is known as a "veil" baby.  During the delivery, a lining formed in the shape of a veil which covered his head.  Veil babies are to be "destined for greatness" and a sign of good fortune.  I believe we were the fortunate ones as we had the pleasure of knowing and sharing our lives with Zach.

Zach had an enormous amount of friends from Fountain Hills and Phoenix that adored him.  He could light up a room with a simple smile and his charm, quick wit and loving personality captured our hearts.  He always found a way to make someone smile.  He cherished the time he spent with his friends who he loved unconditionally.

Like any typical teenager, Zach had his likes and dislikes.  He liked sports and favored the Green Bay Packers and the Boston Celtics.  The green Boston cap he wore seemed to be part of his daily wardrobe.  He liked listening to music that would range from a country song he shared with Nana, to his favorite rap music he knew every word to.  Most adults aren't able to understand the words to his rap songs, yet Zach was able to find the meaning behind every song.

School was one of Zach's least favorite things, but became one of his greatest accomplishments.  Zach entered his Junior year at Polaris High School with only 2.5 credits.  It was at Polaris that Zach had the good fortune of meeting Vice Principal - Mrs. "G" who took an interest in Zach and his situation.  With a tremendous amount of hard work coming from Zach and some support and guidance from the school and the family, Zach was able to earn the credits to graduate on time and with his class.  Everyone is so proud of him and the work he did to earn his diploma.

On July 31, 2010, Zach was suddenly and sadly taken from us.  He was 18 years old.  Zach was "destined for greatness" and he shared that greatness each and every day he was with us.  Words cannot describe the pain and emptiness we feel without him.

Zach, we love you and miss you so much.  You will forever be our Angel.
