ForeverMissed

Those of you who knew Ziggy well knew how much joy he found in life.  Hanging out with his friends, listening to music, watching his precious Maple Leafs (and every other kind of sports!).  He loved his neigbourhood, this city and Canada with all his heart.

So it was fitting that he took his last breath during the national anthem on Hockey Night in Canada.

There will be a party to celebrate the life of Ziggy on July 1st, 2021. Canada Day was his favorite day of the year and it would have been be our 10 year anniversary.  This is going to be a party, not a memorial, so come ready to raise a glass to Ziggy's memory.

Covid restrictions are making it challenging to plan too far in advance, but we will be hosting his celebration of life here in Toronto in the Dundas & Ossington area. It may have a couple of local venues, and will start in the mid-afternoon.  More details and timing to come.

Please share any stories, pictures or videos of Ziggy here on the site, and please feel free to share this site with anyone else who was lucky enough to know him.

Please use the Tribute section below to indicate whether you plan to stop by so I can plan accordingly.

Ziggy may have chosen Trina but as a result he got stuck with us.  It took Ziggy no time to  become one of the family.   Our friend, brother-in-law,  and uncle to Madison and Tucker.  Ziggy had a way of making  the most of any situation.  An  almost innocence: he saw the joy that others couldn't.  Ziggy was always quick to step in and help whether it was as a kitchen cleanup crew for Christmas, a bartender when you had an empty glass or a BBQ helper for our annual bbqs.  We could always count on Ziggy to step in.  None of these activities will ever be the same without him and he will always be in mind, especially at these special times.  There are no words to express the void that Ziggy is leaving but we are so much better off for having had him in our lives.  We will miss you Ziggy.  Love you.  Niki, Steve, Madison and Tucker.

10 Years!

Ziggy and I had our first date on July 1, 2011 at the Painted Lady.  A few months later he showed up at my door with a hockey bag, and never left.

Canada Day was always a special day for us, and so its fitting that we will celebrate his life on July 1, 2021.
