Adolphus Murphy was born February 14, 1932 in Coosa County, Al to parents of Louis and Maggie Murphy (who preceded him in death). He was the youngest of three children.

Adolphus married his wife Emma Young December lst, 1951. The union blessed them with a loving son, Samuel. They recently celebrated their 61st anniversary.

Adolphus had a strong work ethic. He worked several years at Avondale Mill in Alexander City, Al. His career continued at the Coosa County Road Commission, where he retired.

Adolphus received Christ at an early age. He was officiated as deacon at Mount Sinai Baptist Church. Later, he followed in his father's footsteps to deacon at Good Grove Baptist Church. He had a strong passion for loving the lord and sharing the gospel to anyone and everyone.

Adolphus made his transition Tuesday, January 29,2013 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, Al.

Adolphus leaves to cherish his loving wife; Emma Murphy; one son Samuel (Barbara) Murphy; his siblings Robert Murphy and Bessie McKinney; two granddaughters Kemi and Kalena; one goddaughter Athera Flucker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
