Born Alma L. Houston in Henson Creek, North Carolina moved to Detroit in 1949 and small restuaurant on Vernor Highway. Mrs. Hunt also bought old cars and repaired them. She had eight children: Edna, Billy, Brenda, Bobby, Shirley, Susie, Linda, and Sandra. She had 22 grandchildren and currently has 36 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was known for her big heart, her good home-cookin, ability to fix anything, and was an amazing nurturer. She is loved and missed by all who knew her.
