                 HER FOOTSTEPS IN THE SANDS OF TIME


-
 BORN:  - Saturday, 27 October 1956, the first of Four Children.


-Place of Birth: - Lagos, Nigeria.


- Paternal Heritage: Her Father Professor Babatunde Kwaku Adadevoh(deceased) was of The Adadevoh Family of Anyako, Ghana and The Crowther/Macaulay Family of Lagos Nigeria.Her Grand Mother,Sarah Abigail Idowu Adedevoh was the daughter of Herbert Macaulay.(Nigeria's Father of Nationalism) It is instructive that her Father who founded The Nigerian Institute of Medical  Research,dedicated to Tropical Diseases reaserch and studies is today The  Ebola Crisis Center meeting place
 for  international Specialists on Ebola .

-Maternal Heritage: - 
Her Mother Deborah Regina McIntosh is of The Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe  Family(First President of Independent Nigeria 1963 - 1966) and Smith/Wilkey Families.

 EARLY SCHOOL YEARS:
1961-1962 - PRE SCHOOL  Mainland Preparatory Primary School in Yaba, Lagos. 

1962-1964EARLY SCHOOL -  Boston, Massachusetts United States of America.  

1964-1968
:  PRIMARY SCHOOL EDUCATION -   Corona School Yaba in Lagos, Nigeria.


1973
SECONDARY SCHOOL EDUCATION -  Queens School Ibadan, Nigeria , she graduated with a distinction of honors in her West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Exams.


1980: GRADUATED at the age of 24 - Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Lagos College of Medicine. 

1981: HOUSEMANSHIP - She served one year mandatory houseman ship at Lagos University Teaching Hospital.

1982National Youth Service Corps - Eti-Osa Health Centre Lagos, Nigeria.

1983Residency - Lagos University Teaching Hospital West African College of Physicians and Surgeons credential.  

MARRIAGE: 1986 - Ameyo married Afolabi Emmanuel Cardoso on 26 April 1986 at the Holy Cross Cathedral Lagos.  

OFFSPRING: 1988 - 
The union was blessed with a  son, Bankole Cardoso on 17th of August.
 

FURTHER STUDIES: 1992 - 
She earned the prestigious British Council Scholarship.
 

FELLOWSHIP: 1992 – 1993 -
  in Endocrinology at Hammersmith Hospital of the Imperial College in London, United Kingdom.


SPECIALIZATION: -  In  practice in the United Kingdom.  

1994-2014:HER PROFFESSION - Ameyo dedicated  more than half of her sojourn on earth,(over thirty years) , doing what she loved best,caring for humanity and healing the sick.


2004-2014:HER WORK 
- She  invigorated her work life with a ,  commitment and vision to develop First Consultants Medical Center  into the excellent  Medical Institution that it is today,for twenty straight years, adding blocks year in year out, in services delivery and growing  the Clinical patient base of the Center  ,as Lead Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist .


TESTIMONY -The testimony of her  professionalism ,hospice and service delivery will be told from generation to generation by an over 50,000,000 registered patient base of the Hospital from  all over Nigeria,and the indeed the world Over.As it is the First   Multiple Birth (The  Triplets)  delivery to the hospital(1988)  by    Founder and Promoter Benjamin Ohieri are her 2nieces and nephew.Her son was also delivered at the same hospital a month later. This arrow Head of Four of the next generation amongst many are her living testimony.
 Ironic it  is, this Solid  reputation  which endeared Corporate, International and sub regional  clients alike ,that lured the" Index patient" to First consultants.
 
MEMBERSHIP ASSOCIATIONS: - The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN). The British-Nigerian Association National Post Graduate Medical College (FELLOW).  

LIFESTYLE: - She served as a Non-Executive Director of Learn Africa PLC.

  PERSONAL LIFE - Ameyo  was an extremely dedicated, compassionate and God-Fearing individual. 
A devoted Catholic , diligent Doctor, Daughter, Sister,Wife, Aunt, Mother and Friend. She committed her life to serving humanity.  

HEROINE: - By identifying the index patient in the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria in August 2014, she prevented a National catastrophe, left a permanent mark on Society, and solidified her legacy as a Courageous and Patriotic Heroine.  

Her Legacy is Lived through  Her son Bankole Cardoso, her husband Afolabi Cardoso, her mother, two sisters, a brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as 3 Sisters and 3 Brothers in Law, nieces, and nephews and her Countrymen in Gratitude and Honor for paying the ultimate price with her Life. Outside of her immediate family,exist a family of Doctors , nurses, and medical personnel,nurtured ,groomed and trained by Ameyo to carry on her legacy and tutelage of delivering First class professional medical care to humanity through First Consultants and where so ever their medical profession may lead them in their various pursuits and fields of endeavor.  

19TH AUGUST 2014: - She bowed out  peacefully at the age 57 on Tuesday, 19 August 2014,two days after her sons Birthday.
She fought the good fight and finished strong. May her soul rest in perfect peace.
