Her Life

A short summary of Anna's life.

January 31, 2013

Anna had a lot of trials in life to overcome. Her Mother died when she was 5 years old. Her and her 4 siblings were raised in separate Orphanages. Anna may have only had a 9th grade education; but she was so much wiser.  She knew every flower by their English and Latin names. She loved flowers. She knew how to cook without a recipe. When she was just 15, her and Louis Leonard went to get married.  The gentlemen suggested she turn 16 by the time they got to the next town; which was Hagerstown, MD. They had three Children by the time she was 18. All without modern amenities and conveniences. She lived for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She used to say "The cooking and cleaning could wait." Anna helped her daughter, Pat, look after four kids; and her granddaughter Dana, two kids.

Anna lost her first child, Ed, when he was just 40 years old, then two years later she lost her husband, and in 2012 she lost her youngest child John. No one should have to bury their children, no matter what their age.  Anna was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993. She was a Survivor!!!  She had many health ailments, but never let that stop her from doing what she wanted to do.  She was surrounded by family the last few days of her life and was truly at peace when she left this earth on September 5, 2012.  Anna was an Angel on Earth.  God had a special place in Heaven her.  She is tending the babies and the gardens of Heaven.
