The daughter of Benny Jr. and Bernice Kindrick Harris, Batrice was a native of Columbus, GA who was a 1993 graduate of Columbus High School. She obtained further studies at Miller-Mott Business College. She was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church where she served with the Choir and Usher's Ministry. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant, and was preceded in death by her brother, Benny L. Harris, III.

Survivors, other than her parents, include: her daughters, Tyeshia Harris, Amber Harris and Derrika Short; her grandmother, Mrs. Mattie Kindrick; and three loving and devoted aunts and caregivers, Nadine Harris, Eva Burns (Jimmy) and Cynthia Edwards; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
