My Dear Brother (Pa Bayo)
Just a few weeks ago, I told Mammie Sillo in Houston that I couldn't wait to get to Victoria (Limbe) so you could teach me how to dance the waltz and the quick step. Alas! I will always be proud of you for the way you faced life so courageously, especially this last decade, never feeling sorry for yourself but always seeking to use your life (to the very end) in the service of others. And for the rest of my life, on my birthday, I will always hear your voice calling very early in the morning to say "Iya Mboti, I just want to wish you a happy birthday."
Thank you for being such a dear friend and big brother. Go now and enjoy a New Life with the Almighty whom you served so faithfully all your years on earth. I will miss you my friend, but the memory of you will always spur me on.
