She was born January 1, 1936 to Charlie Calhoun, Sr. and Estella Brown Calhoun in Fort Davis, AL. She confessed her belief and faith in the Trinity of God at an early age and joined County Line A.M.E. Zion Church. Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” Calhoun Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, Major Moton Harrison, Sr., her parents, Charlie and Estella Calhoun and seven of her siblings, Henry Calhoun, Tommie Calhoun, Ada Bell Johnson, Jannie Mae Tatum, George Calhoun, Charlie Calhoun, Jr. and Willie Calhoun.

Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” Calhoun Harrison leaves to cherish her precious memories, five children, Alonso Harrison, Alphonso Harrison, both of Rochester, NY, Hyder (Geraldine) Harrison, Tuskegee, AL, Marilyn Harrison, Montgomery, AL and Derrick Latrell Harrison, Tuskegee, AL; four stepchildren, Major Moton Harrison, Jr., Cleveland, OH, Donald Harrison, Gail Harrison and Sharon Harrison; five grandchildren, Anthony Sherman Sanford, Springville, AL, Alphonso Harrison, Jr., Krystal Marie Harrison, Danielle Rolonda Harrison, all of Rochester, NY and Desmond Litrell Harrison, Tuskegee, AL; one great-grandchild, Jahmeir Sincere Harrison, Rochester, NY; three siblings, Virginia Robinson, Mattie Be Calhoun, both of Tuskegee, AL and Albert Calhoun, Rochester, NY; one brother-in-law, Johnny Harrison, Tuskegee, AL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” Calhoun Harrison enjoyed parenting, sewing, cooking, baking, dancing and gardening. She worked in various capacities, but her primary work history included working within the Macon County Public School System with the Follow Through program for young children and families and with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after 23 years of service in Nutrition and Food Service.
