Wake Wen 2-4 & 6-8 at Mclaughlin's Mass Thurs 10 am St Aedan's

Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ and she never wanted to leave, although we tried really hard to get her to move to be near either me or my brother Bill, she would not budge. I chose the song My Way because she really did everything "her way".

She started dating Billy Wright when she was 13 years old and he was 16. They were married in 1956, her only son Billy Boy (William) was born in 1957 and her only daughter Rainnee (Lorraine) was born in 1958. 

She worked in Macy's before she got married and worked in the Dietary Department in the Medical Center Union 1199, she was a 911 Operator,  and was the secretary for her "favorite plumber" Billy Wright.

She loved dogs, birds and fish and always had at least one of those or all three as pets. As I listen to the song My Way how ironic that her last bird's name was Frank Sinatra! 


Some of you may know her as Bern, Beansy or Mrs Brown ( I will have to add the story of how that name came about on the Stories part of this site when I get a chance). However you know or remember her I hope you will take the time to add a story to the stories section of this site. 

Bernadine is survived by her son and daughter in law, Bill and Valerie Wright of Florida and two grandsons William and Christopher Wright also of Florida; daughter and son in law Lorraine and Dave Coughlin, grandson and his wife David and Caitlin Coughlin, great granddaughter Bridget Coughlin of Oklahoma; Sister Mary Lou Handlowich; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
