Dearest Mother Beryl,

A year has passed since your transition to another world but you are not forgotten. You would be surprised how many times I call your name, always with fond memories. Thank you for sharing with me your memories of your early life, for offering kind words of wisdom and for allowing me to sit at your feet, drinking in all those wonderful stories of life in rural Jamaica. As I write these words I am smiling. I would have loved to be able to spend more time with you but I am so grateful for the time we had.

Rest in perfect peace, Mother Beryl, knowing that you live on in those who love you.

Mother Foster, you have much to be proud of. Thank you for the positive legacy you leave behind.

A legacy is a result of the life you've lived, the lives you have touched, the love you have given. A legacy is all that remains after we depart this earth. For you "mama", Aunt Bea", Mrs. Foster, you have left a rich legacy of humility and love...not just love for family, but for all who came in contact with you.  I did not meet you personally, but I met you through your son, I have seen you through the legacy you have left your offspring.. As a result, you will always live on. RIP....
