Her Life

Bettye Lou Lindsey was born October 26, 1933 in Troup County, Georgia to the late Joe and Arzaza Lindsey. Bettye transcended this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2013.

In her early years she was a member of Boozer Chapel and later on moved her membership to St. Mary United Methodist Church where she served faithfully as a usher and on the kitchen committee for many years. She attended West End School and went on to raise a caring and loving family.

Bettye leaves to honor and cherish her memory; two loving daughters, Sharon Brown (Sylvester Brown) and Donna Lindsey; sisters-in-law, Maudie Kate Lindsey and Willie Mae Lindsey; three loving grandchildren, Anwar Philpot (April Philpot); Alicia Lindsey and Marisa Lindsey; seven great grandchildren; and three special great nieces and nephew; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, along with four sisters, Marvin Lindsey, Jesse P. Lindsey, Cornelius Lindsey, Lawrence Calvin Lindsey, Hugh Allen Lindsey; Quella Philpot, Bernice Lindsey; Vannie Lindsey and Bertha Fluellen.
