Billie Taylor Obituary

April 24, 2014

Billie Faye Taylor, age 85, entered Heavens gates as she died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 23, 2014 in Eureka, Ca.   She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Louis C. Hess and  her mother Tressie, on September 27, 1928, in Idabel, Oklahoma.

Billie married her childhood love, Hoyt Taylor, on October 19th, 1942 at the young age of 15 in her native Oklahoma. They were married for 55 years until he preceded her in death in 1997. He was the one and only love of her lifetime and their marriage was an example of  love in the deepest  form.

A resident of California most of her life, she moved with her husband, Hoyt, upon his retirement in 1982 to Lucerne, Ca in Lake County.  They spent many sunny afternoons on their boat fishing together.  She returned to this area to be near her family after his passing.

Billie was a devoted wife and mother, who was known for her charming personality,  giving heart, fun sense of humor, story-telling and her southern cooking.  No one has ever been able to duplicate her country biscuits, or her home-made ice-cream.  She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, word puzzles and music; and her special unique singing voice will forever be etched into our minds. She was a devout Christian who never wavered in her faith.  She never had a negative word about another, was quick to encourage and uplift her family and friends. She would put  a total stranger before herself.

She was the eldest of 6 children; preceded in death by her infant sister Erlene Hess in 1940, and sister Evelyn Nix in the year 2000;  her brothers Troy Hess in the year 2011, Louis Hess in the year 2013,  and her surviving brother, Donald K. Hess.

Billie is also survived by her two children: Fred Taylor and wife Marie, of  McKinleyville, Ca; and Sherrie Mullins and husband Dwight of Eureka, Ca.  She is also survived by five grandchildren: Deena Wright and husband Paul, of Eureka, Ca; Troy Taylor and wife Christina, of McKinleyville, Ca; Darla Granger and husband Blandon, of Roseville, Ca; Daman Mullins and wife Kim, of Eureka, Ca; and Terri Taylor and partner Joanna Rincon, of McKinleyville, Ca. She also leaves behind eleven  great-grandchildren; Jett Taylor, Trevyn Mullins, Tyce Mullins, Holdon Granger, Hunter Granger, Reese Taylor,  Taylee Mullins, Hadley Granger, Talen Taylor,  Angelina Wright and Wrenly Rincon-Taylor. She deeply admired her five step great grandchildren as well; Cameron, Audrey, Olivia, Nathan and Eli, as well as many nieces,  nephews and cousins.  She was dearly loved by all of her family and her many close friends, and we know that Heaven welcomed her with open arms.

A viewing will be held from 3-7 p.m. Monday, April 28th at Sanders Funeral Home. Celebration of life service will be held at 1  p.m. on Tuesday, April 29th at Sanders Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Oceanview Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Troy Taylor, Daman Mullins, Paul Wright, Blandon Granger, Jett Taylor, and Trevyn Mullins.  Honorary casketbearers are Holdon Granger, Hunter Granger and Tyce Mullins.
