Bobby Lee Hughes, 78, passed away Saturday, November 9th 2013 at Granville Medical Center.

A native of Vance County, the son of the late Alonzo Alexander and Ruby Cottrell Hughes. He graduated from Oxford High School, was an army veteran and retired as an accountant with the Internal Revenue Service.

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Chris Aho.

Surviving are his daughter, Dana Patton of Arizona, a sister, Jean Hughes Sobolak (Tim) of Oxford, a granddaughter, Angie Patton of Georgia , a great grandson, nieces Shelley Hight, Kim C. Price, June C. Ellington and a nephew W. Lee Clayton. He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Betsy Anne Clayton, grandson, Cody Wilson, great grandson, Riley Barrow, and special friend Scooter the cat.

Omission of flowers is requested and memorials may be made to Oxford Baptist Church, P.O. Box 368, Oxford, NC 27565 or to the Granville County Animal Shelter, 5650 Cornwall Road, Oxford, NC 27565.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2012 from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of his sister, Jean H. Sobolak, 201 Grace Street, Oxford, NC 27565.
