This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Brenda Busuttil, 57, born on April 1, 1955 and passed away on January 20, 2013. We will remember her forever.

Brenda was born in El Monte, California, on April 1 !955,to Andrew and Janet Anziano.  She was their third child, Michael and Pamela proceeded her,. She would be followed by 3 more children, David, Sherie and Joseph,  One big Italian family.  They grew up on Rachito Street, in El monte on half an acre property that was her dads pride an joy, they raised animals and her Dad Andy was proud of his little farm. His young daughter Brenda would donn her work boots and meet her dad in the field as he attended his animals, there was a herd of ten cattle.  Billie Bull was there pet and she used him for 4 H,. He was entered into competition and won a ribbon, unfortunately a few years later he ended up on the dinner menu and the children refused to eat, why, well "Dinner Smelt Like Billie Bull',. Brenda's heart was huge, her love for children animals had no bounds.  The Anziano's eventually sold thier El Monte home, took a long vacation that included the Coast Of California all the way to Oregon and South to the Salton Sea.  Her fathers greatest past time was fishing and she inherted his love of fishing. During our thirty years of mariage fishing was a big part we had a beach house with a boat dock, the best fishing was off of our boat dock and we entertained many family and friends with grilled steaks, the 44's, Max Bennet, and sea food to die for, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Brenda as a child grew up in El Monte near Peck Road she would frequent a pet store with her sister and brother, I would also frequent that same pet store and thats when I first saw her, we were both kids but I met her again when she was 28 and I was 33 at Guadala Harry's in March of 1983.  She had a son John, and when I met him he asked, can I call you "Dad", Brenda was a little miffed by that because John was making choices for Brenda , so her reply was"John" ask Robert and see if that's ok, I looked at John and said " I don't mind John",. I am to this day his Dad, as well as to Jason and Marie.

Brenda attended Cajon High School, in San Bernardino as well as Riverside Community College,.  She loved accounting and book keeping, she ran a Mcdonalds and was first to make an "Egg McMuffin", for breakfast back before egg mcmuffins were a thought.  Brenda was the most modest women in the world, she had wit and charm that kept the boys at bay, and was asked to go steady 3 times in one evening, one of them was the Class President,. She dated and met Carl Main who she married at 19,both were very young and life would not be easy.  Carl worked at Stater Brothers and Brenda worked for Sir Georges Plantation in San Bernardino, they saved money to buy a home. Johnny was now 2 years old, but the money was spent on a new truck.  Brenda worked very hard to make her marriage work even moving to Kansas, this ended in a separation and she ended back in San Bernardino as a single mom.  She got a job at Cal Gypsum at 22 doing accounting and was attending Valley College in the evenings.  She loved her job moving up the corporate ladder to accountant and was eventually offered her own store in Orange County but declined because she wanted to be with her son.  After years there and economic slow downs in construction she moved carriers to a Government Receivership that was in 1980-83.

Brenda Loved to dance and loved music, disco was hot and she frequented local disco clubs, sometimes she would run into her Dad, he enjoyed disco too,but that was part of his rehab and another story.  She would dance with her Dad and it became so special in her heart because he was so special to her.

Brenda and I met in March of 1983, we were Married on May 14,1983, in Carmel California, our marriage license was from Monterey California,.We eloped, Our friend Dennis was Maid of honor, Brides Maid and Best Man also the ring bearer.  We rented a little beach house just above the white sands of Carmel Beach enjoyed fine foods, shopping and entertainment, for the next 28 years we would revisited Carmel in the summer and reminisce our early days.

Brenda and I made our home in Claremont California on Green Street, a little 900 square foot with 2 bedrooms, it was great for us but  when Jason came along the house was becoming to small so we sold it  and moved to La Sierra Way also in Claremont.  A beautiful ranch style home with 3 bedrooms, heating and airconditioning, lots of wonderful neighbors like Paul and Oliva Leos, who she adored.  Paul was a stately man and lived across the street he was always available for discussion, evenings out for dinners and fatherly advised that she loved to hear.  She confided with him on many occasions, one of his advice for her was to have at least 3 children.  Well guess what welcome "Marie", she happened in 1988, slept at the foot of our bed and there was no way that Brenda was going to let Marie share a room with one of the boys. One of the boys room smelt like a gym,and the other one had a bugger collection on his wall that kept growing.  So we went looking for a new home and found one in La Verne and moved in 1989.  Our first brand new home, we brought along our RV, Boat, and dogs, Niki and Barkie.

Brenda's other favorite passed time was gambling, my fault, we would drive to Stateline Casino's I would give her some money,"it always had to be my money", and she would come back with thousands, my parents who sometimes vacationed with us didn't believe me until they saw trays stacked 2 to 3 feet high, each tray was $100.00, she was a rabbits foot!!! We bought our first home in Las Vegas with her winnings.  One hundred Thirteen thousand, a small mortgage of 600 a month.  Then we went on to our second home in Las Vegas this was just too easy, life was great, Shows, entertainment and great food.  We had Fourth of July Parties to die for  with family and friends,we would spent 4 hours on fireworks entertaining our little neighborhood,.  Then my father past away in 1997 and the fun of Vegas was not the same, so we sold the two homes in Las Vegas and Bought a 2nd home in Huntington Beach California, it had a boat dock and yes we needed a new boat,so she wanted a boat we could all use,so I got a Carver,28 feet, dual volvo penta's and we motored,of course she needed her own boat so I found a Boston Whaler for her,.We would cruise the harbor day and night, barbeque's with family and friends and Johnny's band.  She loved to decorate her homes a talent that would stun the family with and was always asked for advice.  Marie has her talent, her quick wit, but no one has  inherited her talent for gambling!! Not yet anyway!!.

We found a bigger home in La Verne in 1995 and moved into it we slowly finished the home and she decorated it, My job was the landscaping and planting, feeding the 'Horse's", eventually the 'Llamas", chickens, ferrets, parrots including "Bell",who my daughter named and "Scooter", dogs,"Niki',"Sheba","Jack", "GeGe","Mimi", "Coco" and "Bentley",. We built a Garage and hosted many parties, the Y2 K 2000, Party, that was a mini Woodstock, my 50th party and a few others.  Her father would move in with us so we needed 2 guest house's. Andy encouraged me to plant grape vines, make wine and eventually purchase 22 acres of adjoining land with over 4000 varitals of wine grapes,"Anziano Busuttil Vineyards", we made desert wine a "Port", and it is wonderful, Brenda,Andy and the family were so proud, there names on a label!.

Brenda liked having her own income so back in the early 80's of our marriage she opened the "Tic Toc Doll Shop", fine furniture, dolls, clocks and collectibles, she made a small income and had one employee, but the items that I would purchase for sale ended up at home.  She eventually closed the buisness and went from business owner to Domestic engineer/School Teacher and took extreme pride in educating her 3 children to successful adults, with Christian values.

John our oldest met Cynthia and where Married on a Boat In Newport Beach, Brenda's Las Vegas winnings helped pay for that wonderful wedding and as it turned out, gave Brenda her first Grand Child "Connor", Brenda's pride and joy her Buddy!! they were inseparable, She was "Brenana" to him I was "Poppy", we love that little guy that just made us forget all of the health issues that she developed,.

The last five years took the wind out of our sails, business issues, her healthcare diagnosis,it started in 2006.  We lost my Mom followed by Brenda's Dad in 2007 and then Brenda was diagnosed,.We weathered the care  in 2008-09 and at the end of her care in 2009 Connor was born. Her world changed to pure joy, changing diapers, bathing and feeding her new Grandchild and as it turned out they lived next door in a guest house so God blessed us with a Grandchild and convenience of living so close.  Brenda and I vacation in Avilla Beach,Pismo and Morro Bay in 2010-11 we also stayed in Seaside,Solvang, and down south to San Diego.  Her great thrill was our weekends, our Friday adventures to place's unknown or known but they were out there and I drove, she would call me at work."Where are you it's almost 12:00, I am here I'm ready to go", and "If your not here soon I'm Leaving with out you", . She was pressuring me,she hated to drive freeways.  Brenda talked me into at least 20 cars each one was going to help her drive the freeway and through the years I didn't mind I would buy the cars, garage them and go to the next. I finally got her a car with adaptive cruise, you set the cruise on the car in front and it would follow, speeding up or slowing down all you had to do was steer.  Well I get this phone call at work and it's Brenda, Robert, yes, I'm on the freeway, "oh great",where are you and where are you going!,"I don't know I'm behind this truck with Oklahoma plates and the cruise is on",. Well I found her, we laughed and went on another drive,. We laughed a lot in 30 years we also cried, our life was full of happiness, we lived well and so fast that it is only pictures and memories that remind us of all the joy we had,and that is what makes it so very hard to say good bye to my friend, companion, buddy and the love of my life, until we meet again,Love you more, Robert, John,Jason, Marie,Cynthia and Connor, March 6, 2013

Your First Poem Of My Love

March 5, 2013

When we first met, I was so nervous,I didn't want stop talking to you, I had no idea why,. Well 30 years later I can tell you, it was love, My Lady In Red!  The years went so fast, what I have are pictures, movies, memories of the wonderful times, the magic we shared with all that we touched. My first poem for you says it all 5/16/1983

Dear Bren, Tis Nice, Tis Wonderful, Tis Pleasant,

That the day with you,Makes the Sun Shine,The Moon Glow

And My Time With You,So Comfortable Spent,

That Life My Go,  But My Smile,

My Joy, My Life, Is With You, All My Love,   Robert
