Her Life
July 22, 2013

Carrie was born in Boise in 1959.  Carrie attended McKinley Grade School and West Jr. High, where she was a member of choir, the drill team and the tennis team. In Washington State, Carrie Graduated from Inglemoor High and attended 2 yrs  at Shoreline Community College. Following graduation from high school, she worked in the Insurance field and was then transferred to Virginia.  It was there that she then moved into the legal field, where she often delivered documents to government offices in D.C.

After some time Carrie moved back to Boise.  Carrie loved the mountains and that's where she met Justin's father, in the Stanley/Challis area while on a job as a 'flagger' for a construction team.  It was in that relationship that Carrie was compelled to leave Idaho for Rapid City, South Dakota, and it was there that Justin Anton Clark, her only child was born.  Shortly after his birth, Carrie moved back to Boise and her family.  She worked for the Attorney General's office for a number of years before settling at HP; first as a contract employee and for the past few years as a direct member of the team.

Carrie enjoyed playing the piano; swimming (she was a beautiful and graceful swimmer...we always said "Carrie swims like a fish"); camping/fishing with her son, gardening (she could make anything grow....there is a HUGE curly willow tree growing in her back yard, which she started from a mere stick).

She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece and cousin.  Her family admired her dedication to her son and her siblings looked up to her as a role model as a parent.  One of her nephews was recently heard saying "Carrie gives the BEST hugs", which she did!   And the phrase "Carrie smells so good" was repeatedly heard by her niece and all nephews!

Always the optimist:  "No matter what, tomorrow, the sun will rise"

Taking sailing lessons with her father on Puget Sound and showing off their skills to the entire family, and nobody fell overboard.  Which is more that can be said about a float trip Carrie went on with her father a couple of years ago.   Both she and her dad fell overboard while maneuvering over a large rapid.

Besides playing the piano, Carrie also had a beautiful voice.    As a teenager, she recorded and sent in an audition tape and was selected from teens across the nation to perform with America's Youth in Concert.   That group of young people performed in Carnegie Hall and across Europe, including a performance at the base of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Carrie was a country girl at heart.   She liked to read western novels and listen and dance to country music.

Carrie was incapable of saying a negative thing about another human being.  She was always positive and smiling, despite any personal burden she may have been carrying.  Carrie loved animals and they could feel it.  She recently adopted a VERY active little pup she called "Bear".............
Carrie was extremely patriotic.   Since the day her son joined the Marines, she has always worn her yellow ribbon on her lapel.   She knitted caps for the soldiers and sent care packages impacting so many lives.

While previously healthy and vibrant, Carrie had recently begun treatment for breast cancer.  She died very suddenly in the hospital on Saturday, July 13.
