His Legacy lives on!!
Dear All
As Cutty's daughters visited his resting place on All Souls' Day on 2nd November 2017 this picture was revealed.
A snapshot of the headstone reflected a beautiful sunset and city lights. As we prayed together we sensed Cutty's love for his nation ever still present urging us on to live in God's harmony.
Honoured Servant
On August 31st 2009, the 47th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the Chaconia Medal Gold was awarded to His Excellency, Dr. Cuthbert Joseph, Ambassador, for his long and meritorious service, promoting the National welfare and strengthening the Community spirit.
Dad shared that in his youth, his father told him that his country needed him. This propelled him to study hard and become a citizen who would promote National Development.
Quotations from his autobiography entitled: "The Life I Recall", state:
"My formation in my home and in the school was essentially geared to service in the community for the enrichment of community life." (Page 22).
"Daddy was a strict disciplinarian who was always respected ... He taught me to be a servant - a servant of the home; a servant of the school; a servant of the community." (page 29).
While being the Minister of Community Development and Local Government, I enrolled with the Trinidad and Tobago Scouts Association to do a training course ... This would enable me to be officially certified as a Cub-Scout leader. I hoped, by this measure, to do two things. First that I would motivate others, by this measure to become Scout leaders. Second, that this would set an example in the society that leaders should be seen to be servants rather than bosses of their communities." (page 159).
We are proud of you Dad. In the attached video, your country has honoured you for being a servant - promoting National Development. Today, on the 2nd Anniversary of your passing from this world to your Eternal Home, we pray that God will honour you in His Eternal and Everlasting Kingdom. Good and faithful servant, rest in peace with your God!
My Dad, the Accomplished Musician!
Dad, thank you for sharing your gifts so generously with us. Play on with the angels and saints in Heaven!! You will ever be remembered.
