I know that you will never see this note in this life, but it's my feelings.   I didn't know about this page until recently.

I still miss you so very much. I've been back to Kansas several times since I last saw you. Each time is harder not to go visit you. I miss our times in May.

I miss being your Mom.    Charlene ❤️

Tight spaces

February 4, 2016

I will forever remember traveling with him for a week in his semi. Meagan and I on the bottom bunk bed of the truck, decided it was prime time for a pillow fight. He gave us quite a fight until we grabbed one pillow at the same time and pulled him down.....he almost had a gearshift for a tail. It was soooo funny. Ive never seen someone try to grab for something so fast in my life, as his bum quickly approach the gear shift.

I will also always remember the "Kids" camping trip. Daniel,Jonathan, meagan, kristal, I believe austin, and myself. All in a 2 man tent while uncle slept in his car. We were so loud someone came and complained. It was so much fun though.  Then a flat tire on the way home made things really interesting. We acted like we were riding a horse with every bump from the flat. Uncle was not amused lol.

The Guessing Game

February 4, 2016

When Uncle would come home from a long haul, on a payday, he would cash his check and then walk in and fan his money out and tell us kids "Whoever guesses how much is here, gets all the money." I never did win! Lol Nobody won that game. Hehe

Don't mess up dad's coffee

February 4, 2016

One summer I was about twelve years old at the time. Dad was watching over the fire work stand for our church in his trailer, located in a parking lot. We woke up one morning and dad gave me money to buy a gallon of water at the grocery store and well I came back with water. I made dad his coffee and the look on his face I will never forget. I ended up buying sparkling water, so I had to go back to the store for regular water for his coffee. He always gave me a bad time about it but it was one of his dad jokes. For the record I again never messed up the coffee. We always laughed about it. I will always love you and miss you Dad.

Early Morning Rides

February 4, 2016

When I was a kid, my dad would take me up to my uncles on saturdays, early in the morning on his motorcycle. To keep me awake, we'd play 'spot the space needle' on the way up I-5 - 'whoever' won was supposed to get a dollar. I don't think I ever won that game (well, maybe a few times).

We also would try to see who could say 'wheee' for the longest with one breath while we were driving through tunnels - I drive my wife nuts now doing that. :-)

Spending time with my dad always meant so much to me. Even when he moved to Kansas, we'd talk on the phone all the time. I treasure every memory we made.

I love you dad. I'll always miss you.

Dad Jokes

February 4, 2016

When Daniel and I visited David at his home in Esbon several months ago, he decided to take us sightseeing. One of the places he took us to was the Home on the Range cabin. That morning before we left he told us, "When we get there look at the field on the right and you'll see a mama deer with her babies. It's the craziest thing, she's there everytime I go there."

As we approached the cabin I looked out in the field but didn't see the mama deer and her babies until we got just a little bit closer.

As we pulled up, there on the right, was a small statue of a mama deer with her babies.
