Born in Texas, but raised in Georgia. Graduated with honors from McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, Georgia in 1985. Joined the army immediately following high school graduation. Was stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC.  After the army she married but later divorced.  She never had any children.

Over the years, she did everything from being a waitress at Cracker Barrel, to managing a Dollar Tree store, to being an over-the-road truck driver, and finally being a Customer Service Representative for a utility company. There wasn't anything she couldn't do when she set her  mind to it.  She was amazing.

She had an artistic side and was very talented at arts & crafts. Family favorites included hand-made birthday and Christmas cards. They were beautiful and the words so meaningful.  Her hand made refrigerator magnets were amazing!  She made me some for all occasions.  It never ceased to amaze me how she could take little bits and pieces of material and make a treasure worthy of display.  She would literally make something out of nothing.

She was an organizational whiz. Everything in her home had a place and was in its place. She kept her home immaculate at all times.

She loved animals and not having children of her own, her dogs became her "furry 4-legged" children. She was a good pet mother to Lucy Lu and Abby.

She loved the beach and the mountains & rivers of north Georgia. She frequented both, often taking weekend trips with her Mom.

A family tradition was to share a meal every weekend with her mother, since she lived nearby. It might be breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Saturday or Sunday depending on our schedules.  We took turns cooking. One weekend she would come to Mom's for dinner. The next weekend, Mom would go to her place for dinner. And boy, was she a good cook!  No matter what she fixed, it was excellent.   Then sometimes we would simply go out to one of our favorite restaurants.

She was a very attentive daughter and her Mom's best friend.

Over the  years she endured much heartache, and it took its toll on her, but she was a real trooper.  She would always bounce back.  Other times, she would just hide her pain.  Unfortunately she got too good at hiding her pain, too often.  She said she wanted to be known as a survivor, like her Mom.

She developed a health problem that, over time, caused her a huge weight gain and multiple ailments.  More than once she was misdiagnosed.  She always felt bad about her size, since most of her adult life she had been so tiny.  We didn't know that her condition would become life threatening.  But she was not one to go to doctors.  When she did go, she made light of whatever it was,  to keep anyone from worrying.  So her death was quite unexpected and sudden.  If only we had known she needed a liver transplant, we could have possibly saved her.

She was very loved and is sorely missed.  Too soon gone.
