Douglas “Doug” Eulie Denny, Jr., 70, a lifetime resident of the Berea community, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Durham.
Doug was the son of the late Eulie Denny and Mary Elizabeth Blalock Denny. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was retired from Certainteed as an electrician with 39 years of employment.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Beverly Morris Denny of the home, two sons, Timothy Douglas Denny (Sonya), and Anthony Dyar Denny both of Oxford, a sister, Brenda D. Champion of Oxford, two brothers , Donald Denny (Kathy) and Mike Denny (Mary) both of Oxford, three grandchildren, Samantha E. Denny, Timothy C. Denny and Nicholas A. Denny. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerald B. Denny.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1171 Hwy. 158, Oxford, NC 27565.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and other times at the home.
