The Brehm family at the lake...

February 12, 2022
My dad, mom and my then teenage brother Brian came out to Corona, CA to visit my husband Dennis and I. We took them to the lake to enjoy a beautiful CA day. We had a Kawasaki Jet Ski with us as well as our ski boat. We tried to think of every scenario to ensure everyone's fun & safety. We brought enough vests for everyone to wear 100% of the time. My dad never learned to swim so, safety 1st! We went for boat rides on the lake and everyone got to drive the boat. Next was Jet Ski fun. We rode 1st to show them how to ride. With vests on of course, we took turns. When it came to my dad's turn things went South. He panicked, started flailing his arms and kicking his feet and somehow SANK the JetSki. Dennis saved my dad from the water and himself. We managed to tow the water logged JetSki back to shore using the boat. We saved both the ski and my dad but it was a scary day at the lake.

Eddie's Influence

March 8, 2015

My cousins Eddie and Johnny are held in my memories and heart forever. I remember running into Eddie in Sierra Vista, Arizona when he was hauling groceries in his truck, and I was there setting up a new grocery store. We were able to share a beer and talk for a awhile. He loved my Dad, who was a fellow truck driver, and I learned a lot of good work ethics from both my Dad and Eddie growing up.
My love and prayers go out to Juana, and all of the kids. And especially to you John. My Mom always tells me stories of how my Grandma Apodaca raised the two boys and her.
I wish we could be there for the service, but Mom is coming in April. She looks forward to visiting with you then.

Eddie and Casper!

March 6, 2015

Once upon a time, there was a small Shetland pony named Casper!  He lived in Sunburst Farms on an acre property recently purchased by Edward and Juana Brehm.  Two ponies were left behind by their previous owners and understandably, did not appreciate the situation.  Casper was a small Shetland gelding (castrated male) who behaved like a stallion, prancing proudly around the pasture as virile males do!  Eddie became rather fond of Casper but never could get the hang of leading him around using a halter and lead rope.  The other pony, a larger welsh mare was blind in one eye due to careless youth with BB guns.

The story ends on the day the ponies were scheduled to go to their next assignment, which was giving pony rides to children.  The next thing we see is Eddie holding Casper's  tail, slipping and sliding down the street-holding on with all of his strength, trying to  get that stubborn pony back in the trailer. Just like Eddie to use brute strength to get the job done! Funny Dad! Love, Tammy
