15 I Need Thee Every Hour- Just As I Am - Come Ye Sinners

Christ called one of his angels home on Sunday, July 19th 2015.

Elaine Jean Hewitt departed the world in much the same way that she entered ~ in the comfort of her home surrounded by those who loved her dearly.  On Sunday, July 19th, 2015th, Elaine was called into eternal life.  Her graceful spirit, love of family, and passion for Christ lives on through her children and her children’s children.

Elaine was a loving mother, sister, wife, and friend. Her life’s work exemplified love in action. Dedicated to family, she gave us all so much... from larger than life Christmas mornings to seven course meals over countless evenings full of laughter.  She taught us to never take your eyes off your hand during a good game of Mexican rummy, and that everything goes down better over a glass of wine.

Elaine instructed us on the wisdom of appropriateness and tried to teach us all a bit about humility and grace, strength and sacrifice, modesty and elegance (for some, it took better than others ;).  Dedicated to tradition, Grandma (Mom to others) sewed our first doll cloths and learned the lessons we needed to help complete countless homework assignments. She worked, cooked, sewed, and walked with each of us through life… so that the first five through the entire twenty-two would have enough.

Elaine’s sacrifice will not soon be forgotten as her memory lives on in each of her children. Born one of 7 siblings, Elaine Hewitt is survived by  3 children: Micheal Hewitt (pronounced Michelle), Gary Hewitt, and Greg Hewitt; 13 grandchildren, her 98 year old sister, Vergie Mc Williams;  and an extended community of family and friends spanning from Pennsylvania to the Midwest and West Coast.

Elaine is now restored in perfect health and at peace. She has been promoted from saint to angel and dwells in the house of her Savior and King, where she is reunited with her Heavenly Father; her first born son Ricky Hayden; her youngest, Calvin Hewitt, and her late husband Cecil Ray Hewitt. She is predeceased by 6 siblings.

At Elaine’s request, her ashes will be scattered in Illinois and Pennsylvania near the house her father built and close to the gravesite her son and husband occupy.

Friends and family have established a memorial fund to go to the Paralyzed Veterans & World Vision Charity. Reference Elaine Jean Hewitt. See more at: www.pva.org or www.worldvision.org
