Died peacefully, early Saturday morning. Eric was dearly loved by his wife Winona, daughter Kendra, sons Chad (LaDonna), Eric and Timothy (Erica), grandchildren: Summer, Haile, Zackary and Atheyna, brothers Richard (Audrey), Jon (Sue), Myron and Leif. Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Margery (Olson) Steen. 
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 4th, 2014 at the Lassila Funeral Home in Auburn, CA. A separate home town memorial service will be held on December 8th, 2014 at 13:00 at the Tomah Congregation Church at 115 W LaCrosse St. 
Eric was born Sept. 12, 1953, in LaCrosse, WI. He grew up on a farm located just south of Warrens, Wisconsin. He was a 1971 graduate of Tomah High School involved in high school sports; football and wrestling. Eric had a distinguished career of 24 years in the US Army with campaigns in Panama, Haiti and Iraq. Other overseas duty involved him stationed in Germany witnessing the destruction of the Berlin Wall (1989-1995) and South Korea (1999-2000). Eric retired from the US Army as a Master Sergeant.
Eric was a great and honorable person and will be truly missed by one and all that had the pleasure to know him. Any and all friends and relatives are welcome to join us for his life celebration at the Tomah service.
