His Life

Last Day on Earth

March 18, 2016

On Saturday, 23rd January, 2016, Ernest Amekporfor had arrived at the Acre Green Homes Project site, as usual. He called the Caretaker at the place and gave him his weekly allowance and instructed him to quickly iron a T-shirt for him. Within a few minutes, Ernest called the Caretaker back and complained of some pains in the his chest. He then asked the Caretaker to accompany him while he drove the car erratically himself to the nearest Pharmacy Shop. The Pharmacist, seeing the condition or Ernest, rather advised that Ernest be rushed in a taxi to the Tema General Hospital for proper attention and medical care. In less than fifteen minutes after arriving at the Tema General Hospital, Ernest Amekporfor passed way.

Nobody understands this painful end of a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend Many of us are devastated by this very sad event and we are at pains to understand the ways of God. However, we will console ourselves in many ways that we can learn life's lessons as we remain on this earth at the supreme will of God.

Ernest, rest in peace.
Amen

Music, movies and books on the phylosophy of life were part of his favourite past time. Ernest read a lot more books on religion and the Bible. His interpretation of some of the chapters and verses in the Bible revealed someone with a very deep perception of life and this quest for God generated a thirst that consequently made him retreat to Acre Green Home for weekends of prayer and meditation.

Ernest Amekporfor, like all the siblings were born and raised in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. But in later years, he gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ by accepting Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Consequently, he joined the Living Streams International, one of the thriving charismatic and independent churches in Ghana with Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Mama Markwei as the General Overseer. In deed, he had a very good relation with Rev. Markwei.
