Fran and Alex were married in Manchester in November 1970. Everyone said the marriage wouldnt last as they were too young, but they defied everyone´s predictions and enjoyed 37 gloriously happy years together right up to Fran´s passing at the very early age of 55.
In May 1972, Fran gave birth to their only child, a beautiful daughter, Lisa. The family had now become 3 - "The Nicols" and they did everything together including meals out, holidays and playing tennis. wherever Fran and Alex went, Lisa came too!!
In 1978 Fran qualified as a lawyer after studying for her exams whilst Lisa was a baby. She joined a law firm in Manchester and practiced family law up until retiring from the profession in 2000.
In 1983, the family joined Bamford Tennis Club, where they all played and took part in the social activities. Fran was so respected at the club, not just for her playing ability, but her commitment to the social comittee and the teams. Fran was made captain of the club in 2000. A proud moment for the whole family.
In 2001, Fran, Alex and Lisa decided to leave the UK after Fran and Lisa had had a holiday in Spain. Alex had always wanted to move abroad, but this holiday spurred Fran to want to move to Spain. The whole family left the UK in March 2002 to start their new life!
Once in Spain, Fran and Alex set up their own Real Estate business where Alex looked after the Sales and Fran looked after all the Rentals and all the office organisation. A match made in heaven, even in business!!
