From a young age Funto loved to ride; not just bicycles but horses too.  Among the bike (bicycle) riders, Funto held sway with one of the first Grifter bikes in those days, the other bike of choice was of course the Chopper/Raleigh.

He started riding horses in the late 70's, an avid horse rider, he later went on to play non professional Polo. A popular fellow as always, he was a member of ISI Drakar Noir, a 'happening' boys club!

Funto loved horses, art and design, photography playing polo and cycling.  Until his death he was an active member of Cycology cycling club in Lagos.

Funto worked as an IT Training Consultant before moving into the recruitment industry where he specialized in IT placements. Between 1996 & 1998, he went on to set up a recruitment consultancy specializing in IT placements within Africa and Europe.

In 2000 Funto went on to co-found FindaJobinAfrica.com – a platform that facilitates the connection between recruitment agencies and employers with job seekers wherever located.   The need for this platform was a direct response to the increasing international investment within the African Oil & Gas, Banking & Finance, IT and Telecom sectors, and as a result the demand for skilled professionals exploded.  FindaJobinAfrica.com is now a leading employment website in Africa which records over 2.1 million hits a month and advertises over 6000 Vacancies in Africa a year.

In 2007 Funto, as the Managing Director of FJAJobs, launched the ‘FJAJobs Job Supplement’ in conjunction with Business Day. The publication had a weekly readership of over 120,000.

From 2002 to 2009 Funto was the Director of Human Resources Policy Advisory with the Commonwealth Business Council.  Under his stewardship, Africa Recruit was formed in conjunction with NEPAD and the Commonwealth Business Council to reverse the "brain drain" and build and retain within the continent critical human capacities for Africa's development.  Africa Recruit was named as one of the big achievements of NEPAD in the last 4 years - NEPAD Secretariat June 2005.

Funto was engaged during the last Africa Economic Summit held in Nigeria in 2014 as policy adviser on human resource capacity building in Africa. He recently developed a paper for Ondo state on Tackling Unemployment and Employability through Career Guidance and access to Information”. This came out of the ever increasing scourge of unemployable youth who eventually become pawns used by politicians in the struggle for power.
