Mr. George James Turner, Captain (Ret.), U. S. Army, 75, of 1234 Dunbar Avenue, departed this life on Friday, January 23, 2015. He was the born on October 14, 1939 in Ragland, AL to the late Ola Mae Turner and Marion Turner. 

  Mr. Turner graduated from St. Claire County Training School in Pell City, AL, followed by enlisting in the United States Army. He attended OCS School, obtaining the rank of Captain, retiring after many years of service in 1981. During retirement, Mr. Turner owned and operated Turner Shell Service Station on Andrews Road for several years. He later pursued and earned a BA degree from Troy State University.

Mr. Turner is survived by a devoted wife, Annie S. Turner; five sons, Marcus Brian Turner, Columbus, GA, Benny Turner of Moss Point, MS, Victor Turner, Crowley, TX, Chris Turner (Valencia), Jacksonville, FL and Toney Turner (Prevette), Orlando, FL; one daughter, Nina Graham (Robert), Goodwater, AL; four sisters, Mary Lee Embry (Paul), Bernice Davis, Ola Mae Robinson (Marshall) and Gloria Jean Jordan (Rev. Jordan), all of Ragland, AL; two brothers, Marion J. Turner (Charity) of Detroit, MI and Donald Ray Turner (Earline) of Ragland, AL; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
