Gloria Fay Mitchell Sevier (Mickey) was born October 10, 1947 in Andalusia, Alabama to the late James and Nezadie Mitchell. Gloria accepted Christ at an early age at Progress Baptist Church. Gloria’s family moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1958 where she attended Lindblom High School and graduated in 1966. In the same year, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Donald J. Sevier on January 15, 1966. Gloria and Donald relocated to Saint Louis, Missouri in 1976. She later received her associates degree in Fashion Merchandising from Florissant Valley Community College.

Though she was employed for various employers, she was a dedicated employee for Grandpa’s Pigeons for 21 years and Nordstrom’s Department Store for 12 years. She was a loving, kind hearted and gentle soul to all that knew her.

Gloria departed this life on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Nezadie and James Mitchell,  brother, Julius Mitchell, and sister Jean Tripp.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 48 years ~ Donald J. Sevier; one son ~ Donald Muhammad (Marcie); two daughters ~ Rosalind Joi Bennett (Norman) and Lynette Sevier; one sister ~ Ninetta Mitchell; five grandchildren ~ Christian Anthony, Brandy Bennett, Michael Sevier, Zaakir Muhammad and Quincy Hill; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and great friends.
