I think of things you used to say and all that you would do. At some point and every single day, my thoughts would turn to you. To lose you was a bitter pill to swallow, as the pain cut to the core. I cried to my tears ran out and I cried some more. I know we can not be with each other now but safe in my heart you will stay. That's were you will always be my love.

Harold was such a wonderful man. I'm not sure I can really express just how much I miss you on your 74th heavenly birthday. You had the ability to make everyone feel comfortable, secure and loved were your greatest strengths. The 23 years of marriage was not long enough but our God was ready to receive you back to himself. I thank God for those years as I look back with so much happiness.

I remember the first time I saw you and thinking about how you described yourself to me before I even saw you. Today, which would have been your 74th birthday and now your heavenly birthday. I immemsely miss you, your touch, your smile, your laughther and your scent but you must continue to rest from your earthly labor.

was always such a gentleman – well mannered and polite, but always quick with a witty remark. His joviality and good nature attracted people the moment he walked in the room, and no one could forget his raucous and contagious laugh.

Born and bred in Brisbane, Paul always had a passion for the ocean. In our early life together, we would jump in the caravan and spend weekends on the coast together. I remember the first fish he caught. Paul had been out all day after promising that he would bring home dinner that night. It was getting late and I started to worry, but the look on his face when he marched back and presented the catch of the day was priceless. His face was glowing and he was grinning from ear to ear, despite the fact that it was dark and he was shivering with cold.

Harold was a hard working and giving man. Not only was he committed to his job – working long hours that would drive me insane – he was also committed to giving back to the church. When you wasn't at work – or helping me with BTGO summer enrichment programs - Vacation Bible School – you would be at thd church throughly cleaning it into the late. He always encouraged us be involved in life – he bought out the best in us all. He would always say, ‘We come this far by faith”.

Harold was my soul mate and my inspiration – my steadfast rock that helped me through thick and thin. Harold supported and loved us all, and was always there to help navigate through life’s challenges.

Harold you are looking down on me now from heaven with a big smile on his face saying, “We come this far by faith, I’ll see you soon Thelmo. We have work to do up here, too.”

Happy Heavenly Birthday, my dear, sweet husband.

He was my Poo Poo and i was his Sunshine. He Loved him some Thelmo, and the Lord. Harold was a Loving and Giving man. No matter how he felt he always asked how are you doing and are you alright. Then he would ask do you need anything. I miss our late night talks, and the comfort they brought. When the Lord called you home he definitely said Job Well Done. Now you have earned your wings to enter the Kingdom. Love you and missing you.

This was a wonderful man of God, devoted father, brother-in-law and friend. Miss your wonderful humor and the twinkle in your eye when you would see Thelmo enter the room. I know that you're enjoying your hot dogs. Do you take that with or without mustard?? Love you and Miss ya!

Looking Down

I am looking up today Harold and I trust
you are looking down
Because today is your birthday and I am
insisting on smiles and not a single frown
I know this is what you would ask for
because you always thought of other folk
So look at your smiley family laughing and
having a joke

We always puzzled what to buy you when this
day came each year
You would always say “nothing - as long as you
visit I know you care”
So we would do the usual, buying you gifts that
would be useful one day
and you would express your delight as you put them quietly away

I like to think you are looking down on us in your
caring way
Especially today which is very special because Harold
today is your (69th) birthday
So (mum) I hope the angels are singing and you are
celebrating big style
But take a moment from your celestial celebrations to
spend with us looking down for awhile

He was a man of God, that loved God's people, and did what ever he could to assist in there well being. Know that God never forget those who do His will. Sleep on take your rest, a job well done on this side, but think of what it is going to be when we all enter into his presence.
