In Memory of Helen Donnelly

June 11, 2012

Helen Donnelly of Lynn, MA and Daytona Beach Shores, FL died early Sunday morning, June 10, 2012.  She was born in the Beachmont neighborhood of Revere on February 4, 1921 to James and Bertha Donnelly, moved to Lynn as a youngster, and relocated to Dayton Beach Shores in 1989 following her retirement from General Electric in 1983.  Helen graduated from Lynn English High School in 1938, completed the secretarial course at Katharine Gibbs School in Boston in 1940, and spent many years working as an executive secretary at GE before moving into management.  Helen enjoyed a wide variety of activities, from Bruins hockey games at Boston Gardens to ballet and yoga classes; she travelled extensively, with repeat trips with friends and family to favorite destinations such as Ireland and Bermuda; and she especially loved the ocean and shore, from Kings Beach in Lynn to Daytona Beach Shores in Florida.  She leaves behind her beloved sister, Dorothy Doherty, and three grateful nieces and their families:  Nancy Doherty, Frank, Amy, and Peter Feher; Susan, Stephen, Kara, Katherine and Michael McCabe; and Mary Doherty and Lee Willer.
