Iva Milenkovic

Iva Milenkovic was born on July 12, 1981 in Skopje, Macedonia, Yugoslavia, to Dusan and Mirjana Milenkovic (née Dimitrovska).
Growing up in a multi-lingual culture Iva learns both Serbian and Macedonian languages, but her ability to assimilate language goes unnoticed. In the early part of her childhood, Iva develops into a strong-willed child, but one with a tender heart.
IVA'S BIOGRAPHY
May 1992 - July 1994
Iva moves to St. Lucia with her family, where Dusan pursues a job at St. Jude Hospital. By mid-July 1992, Iva learns conversational English. It takes only two months to go from virtually not knowing any English, to being fluent and fully capable of carrying on conversations. For the first time, her language assimilation talents are recognized.
July 1994 - July 1995
Iva spends a wonderful year in Des Moines, Iowa while attending eight grade at the Holy Trinity junior high school.
July 1995 - September 2001
Iva returns to live in Skopje, and spends the next four years attending high school. The high school years are followed up by attending the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Skopje.
September 2001 - June 2004
Unsatisfied with the direction of her study, Iva decides to pursue agronomy at the American Farm School in Thessaloniki, Greece. Despite attending a school where instruction is done in English, Iva returns to Skopje not only as a university graduate, but also fluent in Greek.
October 2004 - December 2007
Iva is the only candidate out of Macedonia to be awarded a full scholarship to attend the Instituto Agronomico Mediterraneo di Bari for the pursuit of a Master’s degree specializing in the field of organic produce. Once again, she returns to Skopje with a degree and having learned another language: Italian.
