His Life

Mr. Ryner was born in Vienna, Ga. on December 17, 1930. He graduated from Gordon Military Academy and then went on to theUniversity of Georgia where he received a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. While attending the University, he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, the UGA swim team, and Army ROTC. He served our country in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. While serving, he was called home to take over the family business at the time of his father’s death. He later went on to own and operate the Ryner PecanCompany. Throughout the years he was involved in various civic organizations. He was active as a Shriner as well as in the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. At the time of his death, he was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Ga where he served as an Elder.

He is survived by his three children, JB Ryner Jr. (Susie), Lyn Kelly (David), Kelly Ryner Burton, and their mother, Carolyn Ryner. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Derrick Ryner, Haley Ryner, Laurie Lyn Burton, and Mitchell Burton, and one great granddaughter, Aubrie Ryner. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by very close friends and family members who loved him dearly.
