Retired Army Sgt First Class, James W. White of West Point, Georgia, born Saturday, December 3, 1932, passed away Monday night, October 24, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

His military spanned 22 years with two tours in Germany, Alaska, and Vietnam.  

Mr. White is preceded in death by his father and mother, Newt and Johnnie White; a sister, Irene Tenney; a brother, Calvin White of Lansing, Michigan; and a son, James Eugene “Skip” White.  

Mr. White is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel White; 5 children, Tim White, Sandy (Howard) Carlton, Denise (Phillip) Brown, Larry (Tammy) White and Edney White; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Deloris (Jerry) Henson; a brother Jerry (LaVerne) White; and numerous nieces and nephews.
