This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Janice Westover, 75 years old, born on December 31, 1939, and passed away on March 20, 2015. We will remember her forever.
It's hard to believe Jan has been gone for six years. I still think of her now and then. We had good times for years at Doane and here in Denver. I wonder where her brother and Mike are.
She was my French teacher at Alameda Jr High. I sure had a crush on her- she was so beautiful and classy. I was the class clown. Once she gave me a phrase to take home and translate for the next days class and to tead aloud. It was, "Mr Tracy, you are a butcher of the french lamguage". I did mispronounce the words just to get a reaction out of her. It was fun, and she was a great teacher as I did skipped a grade. I will forever remember her. As I went to college (and did continue with a french class there) and then became a Naval Officer. We say, " fair winds and following seas". My heart to hers forever. Eddie Tracy
I have fond memories of being in Mrs. Westover-Beckwith's class at Ken Caryl. This woman had the patience of a saint. God Bless her and everyone who loves her.
To Michael and the rest of Jan's family- I've known Jan for the last 9 years, meeting her when my Mom was also at Hallmark. I already miss her, as she always came to my Bingo group on Wednesday afternoon. She was a good friend! Rest in Peace Janis-I love you!
Thanks Diane for adding the picture of Jan as a blond!
Jan and I have been former roommates and friends since Doane College. We've shared many laughs and fun times over the years. I have good memories of her. The photo I added is probably from '66 showing a blonde Jan to match (standing) Mike's fair hair.
My condolences to the family and especially to my old friend, Michael. The loss of a parent brings immeasurable grief. I did not know Jan, except as Michael's mother, yet I am impressed by the wonderful life she led. I am sure she left an indelible impact on countless students. God bless you all!
Oh dear, dear Jan you have waved goodbye too soon and to so many and to all of us who you touched in our lives.
And to all who you touched intimately and eternally in your life; as mother to Michael and Michelle, sister to me, daughter to Minnie E. Broer-Westover and Willard W. Westover; aunt to Karlyn S. Westover, and to hundreds of young students in the French Language and History.
And especially to life long friends like the "gang of four" from high school, to college colleagues, to Story Book Dolls collector friends; and to Pam, Barb, and Joleen who stayed with love forever for you Jan until you waved goodbye and who still love you so in memory.
And in memory we will all "Always Love You" Jan. We are grateful you loved us during all your years you gave to us.
