Nanny... Ahhh, where to begin. To write just one story out of oh so many... One comes to mind when you showed up to aunt Laurie's house, at one of her pool festivities. It was such a beautiful day and all of us kids were having so much fun. I happened to be out front with the boys and saw you pull up. Let me tell you, I lit up like a Christmas tree. I had never been so happy to see anyone in my life. You would have thought I just won the lottery. I began to run up to you, full speed in my brand new flip flops you bought me. Then suddenly, the front of the flip flop bent and went underneath my foot causing me to fall flat on my face. I scrapped up both knees, hands, and face. You managed to pick me up (which I can not imagine being an easy task even though I was very young) drag me and food you were bringing inside. You put me down cleaned my cuts and were the only one able to get me to stop crying. Even though I got those horrible cuts every where, that was a great day because you sat inside with me for the rest of the afternoon, all because I didn't want to go in the pool cause it would hurt my knees. You had me laughing, and I remember you told me one of those cool pirate stories, that for some reason I really thought were true haha. This really sticks out in my head because you remembered it and asked me about it about a month ago when you saw the scar on my knee. I couldn't believe you remembered something so silly. And when I said that, you said, "yea that was the day I decided I will be far away when you are in labor." We laughed so hard then you reassured me you were kidding and gave me a nudge. Nanny I will always love you and remember you forever and ever. I can only hope and pray to raise my kids and treat my grand kids the way you did. I have so many stories and memories near and dear to my heart and I thank you for allowing me to be lucky enough to have those memories with you. I love you. ~your coley
