Jerry Andrew Middleton, 65, of Creedmoor passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late C.H. Middleton and Joy Winfree Middleton. He was a loyal member and deacon of Living Word Baptist Church and was self-employed.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Living Word Baptist Church by Rev. Mike Vaughan. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are his wife of forty-five years, Faye Clayton Middleton of the home, a daughter, Amy M. Overstreet (Kris) of Snow Hill, three grandchildren; Macy, Chelsey and Austin Overstreet, all of Snow Hill, two sisters; Joyce Daniel of Creedmoor, Jo Ann Middleton of Cary, a brother, James Middleton of Winter Haven, Florida, and several nieces and nephews and a loving church family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living Word Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1172, Creedmoor, N.C. 27522.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 3:30 – 5:30 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times the home.

I can't believe 9 years ago you left your family and your church family. But what better place could you be? You have more rejoicing in Heaven, but here on earth we are rejoicing for your little granddaughter also. When I see her, I will remind her of her wonderful PaPa Jerry that she didn't know on earth, but she will some day meet you. I know you are looking down on her every moment and just smiling that wonderful smile that you have. You have one happy wife that truly loves her first great granddaughter as well. We love you Jerry and miss you.

I can't believe it's been 8 years and sometimes it seems like more years with not seeing the wonderful person Jerry became. I still miss you today as the first day you was not with us. I still picture you and Faye on the other side just smiling and waving and making sure you spoke to everyone, because no one was a stranger when you was around. Our church has gone through some difficult times and it seems like it doesn't go away. You bought a smile into our church that is not there anymore. Your memories hold dear to my heart. Happy Birthday to a wonderful spiritual person. You have had some great birthday's in heaven and now you have more friends with you this year. Darlene, mama and Terry. I know you are rejoicing at seeing them, especially Terry. You are having the biggest birthday party ever. I still miss you and Faye has been one true friend of mine and I keep in touch with Amy and everyone is so grown up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I know I'm a day late, but computers are the craziest thing. I just wanted to tell you that I had to get rid of the two flowers, as well as you already know, but I guess I just needed to tell you. They were not doing good at all. I just couldn't get them going. It must be age (LOL). Well, that's what the doctors always tell you. Jerry I still miss you and you telling us good things at Church. A lot has happened to our Little Church in the woods. It doesn't seem like the same, as when you were there. But, I guess they always say nothing stays the same forever. You bought that smile into the Church every day. Faye has a lot of strength and she is the dearest friend to me and you know that I love Amy to pieces and her family.

Another year older and wishing you the most perfect Birthday there is, but hey we know that's already happening. I can see you walking and looking to us and saying "keep your faith strong, because one day we will all be together." Sometimes when I'm at a difficult moment in my life, you will pop in my mind and I say to myself "What would Jerry say to me, when I would have asked him for advice." I know he would tell me that everything's going to be alright. To the darling grandchildren that Amy and Chris have raised is remarkable. Just like you and Faye raised Amy, hey she turned out pretty terrific. Faye is one great person and I'm glad that she has stayed in my life and times when I need someone to talk to, she will be there. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

WOW really 6 years. Sometimes when I'm at Church and still look over to where you and Faye use to sit, I think it hasn't been that long ago and then other times it seems like a long time. I still miss you and keep you in our hearts today. Me and Little Brad (as you use to call him) were talking about you last Friday. How things change and missing people. You wouldn't believe how Little Brad has grown up. You always had a smile on your face and helped other people to smile back at you. I'm always in contact with Amy and the whole family and see them sometimes. They are doing so well and believe it or not, sometimes I ask Amy for advice. You are so missed and will see you in heaven someday.

Jerry you are still missed. A couple of days ago, I started humming the song I loved to hear you sing "The Old Man Is Dead." Not sure why, but that song just stays in my heart. I guess because I seen some people change their life for the better and the words to that song are so true. You were a blessing to many people. You were there when I needed kind words or good advice about my child. Thank you so much for being a part of our life.

Even though Faye has moved over to our side of the Church and it's funny to have seen that happen, but I am glad she did, I can still picture Jerry and Faye over on the right side of the Church. Jerry is still missed as much today as ever.

Boy another year has passed and Jerry is not forgotten. I still miss seeing him up there leading our singing and prayers in Church. I know there are times when I still feel him in the Church. Faye you are still so strong. Amy is alot like her dad. You can call or text her and she will help you with the correct answer. Thank you Amy for your support. Love to all the family.

Another year has passed and still Jerry is thought of so much in my church life as well as family life, because I have always considered Jerry, Faye and Amy family, when Amy was growing up, she was always around. And Amy's family is our family because I love them dearly. Faye you have been strong for so many years now. I love you.

Really weird that this morning after I woke up I thought about Jerry Middleton and everything he had done for our church. How he held things together because he always told us, "We are doing the best we can." His famous words and then when I go on my email there is a popup telling me that it's his birthday. Funny how things happen. I look at Faye and the strength she has in going on and not getting down, although I know sometimes she does. Well Faye I am there for you and the rest of the family. How Chris, Amy, Austin, Macy and Chelsey have come through a difficult time but their strength kept them going. Jerry instilled a lot of Faith in a lot of people. I will never forget that he was there for my son in the time of need. God Bless the Family. Love you'll

Faye, Jerry will be truly missed. I will certainly miss walking into church and the first person I would see looking down the hallway would be Jerry. He would be smiling and saying "Hello, Debra, how are you". It did not seem like that Sunday when I walked in. He was truly one man that changed his life for the Lord and I was glad I was a part of that memory of watching him grow in Christ. I loved it when he sung the song, "The Old Man Is Dead" because not only him, but memories of others would go through my mind while he was singing.
Amy, your father was a great person. Always cherish the memories even if some were not good, because the good ones always out weigh the bad ones. Trust me I know.
He was a great father-in-law to Kris and his grandchildren he truly loved. He was proud of each and everyone of you. Just remember to live for the Lord and one day you will meet him in Heaven. God Bless each and everyone in you.

Faye I am sorry to hear of Jerry's passing but in reality it was his home going and no words from man can comfort your heart at this time, only Gods Word can do that. I remember in my early ministry coming to LWBC to preach and how exciting it was to see you and Jerry in the congregation and to see how after all these years how y'all have grown in your faith. Jerry's legacy is that faith and testimony of his love for his Lord and now he has gone to Heaven to be with Jesus and many others and he is waiting for you to join him to be together again for eternity.
